These are really nice VST's. They sound awesome when used with Moonbell.

downloaded the electrostudio 10 pack - can't wait to try some of those out - the demo tracks sound very analog and lush.
I'll take a look at the bootsy plugins - the compressor looks like it is worth trying

I'm starting to find that certain plugins can sound as good as hardware.
Rob Papen's Blue for example. I found a preset last night that sounds as heavy and wide as anything my Voyager can produce.
Gid, that boosty compressor is what people were saying was the best free one around, it was brought up a few times in a thread about Cytomic's 'The Glue' compressor.

The ODSay and the MoonSonoSX are definitely my favs. The MiDi learn implementation on them is terrific and makes the synths very hands-on and a lot of fun to play. And they are loads of fun when used with the Techno Toys collection.

One thing I neglected to mention about the Seq303 & Arp-X8 apps is be sure you select "auto export" (ctrl-A) before you "run" them. This will automajically create a MiDi file, with the current date & time as the filename, when you stop that you can import into your favorite DAW for further exploration.....

Proof that some programmers actually know what they're doing..?!

I've been havin' fun with Meesha's vsti's. Some pretty crazy arsed, wierdly wacky stuff can be done with 'em. i.e. Lexapro Haze

Since Synthedit is a platform for building VST and VSTi, and it is free, there have been many released online that sound a bit thin. But certainly, there are many Synthedit VST and VSTis out there that do rock, probably more.
Synthedit is a visual editor, so there isn't much programming in the creation of a VSTi, but you probably need to understand the various elements of signal processing to get something good out of it.
I'd like to give it a try Have any of you tried SynthEdit?
Here is a tutorial: http://www.postunder.net/files/minimag/jan05/setot.html
and the SynthEdit site: http://www.synthedit.com/

All we need... is a plan
We set a date, let's say Dec 15th, for when your VST or VSTI is due. Once we have them all together, we'll create a download pack with all of them.
I'll start a new thread for this

hmm... I thought it was free - sorry guys, I was wrong. You need to buy a serial key for $50, otherwise it runs with restricted functionality until you do.
BTW - I'm not saying the app isn't worth $50, just that I'd rather not start a project which requires people to spend money.

Here are 6 more to check out - these are more for a 'classic' sound:
* ORGANized trio - version 3.1 - Tonewheel organ simulation * MrRay Electric Piano - version 2.2 - Generic Physical Modeling eletric piano simulation * MrRay73 - version 1.0 - Tines & Tonebars electric piano * MrTramp - version 1.0 - Reed electric piano * Effectizer - version 1.1 - Generic multi effect processor * MrDonald - version 1.0 - Rotary speaker simulation
All made in SynthEdit. I watched a video demo of the Organ, sounds excellent.

I've read that the best vsti creator is a program called 'SynthMaker'.
