this is nice!
good use of the sugar shack melody, its really cool. I could have used a little more bass, and in fact a little more variation in EQ in general. It sounds like its eq'd to sound like an older song. But all in all, very well done. This is one of my favorite beatsie tracks as well, so it was extra cool. Oh, and i just got to the sitar part, nice.

i've loved this song forever and recently it occurred to me that it needed to be sampled. catchiest pop song of all time. the beasties just fell on top of this after it was more or less finished.
so thanks for listening... i've gone through it again and reposted with a slightly more refined mix... (less of the midrange frequencies, per your comment erik)

I think I know what part of the vox you are talking about, and that's how the acapella was recorded - it has that odd stumble. On all of the mixes I made, I either did not cut the vocals and adjust the orig timing, or I made verse cuts to separate sections. I'll open that one up and see if I can just cut out that section of the vocals. Or are you saying there's a deeper problem across the whole track? I need to finish the 3 others Beastie Boys remixes I have sitting here. Ryan - I was thinking about mixing these down w/o the vox and sending them to Gentle Jones. I love his style.
