Timestretch X-TREEM!

I found this at electro-music.com forums:

http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/

It's a timestretch program designed for LONG stretches of source material. It spews out ambient soundscape goodness when fed just about anything. For a real treat, plop a whole tune into it. It's amazing Shocked

Audiomulch is another good one for doing this sort of thing. I've used to great success many times.

Cool, right on.

I used to use Granulab for some of that - but you had to lear what 'not' to do, because the application would allow you to push beyond it's ability to process and can lock up. But once you learn what how to use it, it's GREAT for making breaks in tracks or transitions... For example - you have a break section where things change up... render that down - then pull it into Granulab, have it slow down and graulate the heck out of it. Then bring that back into your track, line it up... now you have a very dramatic break that blends in. Do the opposite, and have the sound file go from nearly stopped, on up to regular time, and you have a nice sample to use to transition out of the break.
