First up a funk track which I'm going to send over to Gentle Jones:
Whistler (rough)
For some reason this track reminds me of watching Sesame Street when I was a kid.
Next, for the more cultured among us ( ), a piece from a series of string quartets I'm doing for a film.
Nachtmusic
Let me know what you think....

I will listen tonight from home.
Are you eventually going to have live string players from the string pieces?

Whistler has a great feel - but I don't think it's funk. The bell-like sound that's getting scratched/mixed in is great. The kick sounds like it needs some reinforcement, some more punch. Great tempo for Gentle to work with - there's a lot of room for him.

Yes! Its being recorded in April (if I get them done in time).
Gideon, yes your right. Its hip-hop really. Will have a look at the bass kick. I have a "temporary" amp just right now so its hard to judge. Thanks for the words.

Nachtmusic is a wow for me too! I admire the sound quality~ Great auditorium effect on that. The only deal though, is that it's a longy. If it were in a film I'd be looking at breaking it up throughout the film- Or, could it be the intro to the film perhaps?
Whistler- yes, man that is sesame street beat my man. I was hoping you'd go record scratchy on us in there but you did kind of a quicky zip scratch; probably to indicate you got that funk under your belt?
From what I've heard of your tunes, you seem to lean toward sort of a pressing progression that seems to climax but never does usually because you're just always in that jam notion.
A lot of times I'll listen to ABC and Danny because their files are next to one another on my jumpdrive... Both of you guys seem to have the same sort of approach; in respect to dark and murky compared to pedestrian street beat stuff.
(Llip Eno, Whistler)
Er maybe it's just me listening to the files on my jumpdrive too much?
You know what I'm completely wrong. Too much jumpdrivin...

Actually, you know what- Whistler would go quite well while watching a current slide show of the AS photo gallery... hmm... Hey gideon- do you know of a program that could automatically store; like say 1 page amount of AS photos to a slide show? With your tune of choice?
I know you're updating older systems right now- but I'm talking about later on.
I know there's Flickr.com- I don't think they have a music option though... I'm just curious if that's feasable for the template...

Thanks Kylo. It did turn out nice. My friend Jake gave me loads of new string sample to fuck around with and it fooled my girlfriend. She thought it was Ravel!
I wish...anyway. Yes, it is a longy - I got carried away. I'll see how it sounds live. Sadly I won't be able to post up the results.
Maybe I'll post it up secretly for members on the site.
You can never do too much junkdrivin...
Mike - should have your remix ready some time this weekend.

yes - it's possible. I do have plans to add a slideshow option to the photos - I was going to allow you to select a song - but i'm not sure how I should set that process up. I'll also need to check if the song can be turned off on the slideshow object so people can skip the music if they like.
and you are correct, there's no music on Flickr.
