I just came across this quote and remembered this thread.... maybe this applies?
"Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best." - Henry Van Dyke
The natural world is rather noisy at times when you can hear it aside from the clamor of the urban human, and even that has it's music, but recently I found out that the notable soloist Mockingbird deviates far from the song pattern of the birds he imitates and will even imitate sirens, cats, telephone rings and even the call birds they have never heard. A freakin original organic synthesizer!

(I might get it wrong) I believe the situation we have here, is one involving tastes. Sometimes in order to really 'jam out' to to a great track you have to take into respect bean burritos. Let me continue... I mean take into respect say; the internal relationship a rebellious mind has compared to a conformist. Let's say "Bob and Tim". They both like burritos, but Bob will eat it the way he likes it. Same goes for Tim. The beauty of the two is they're both heating it up- just one uses a stick over a burn barrel and the other uses a George Foreman rotisserie grill. Chewing the bean burrito can be (wow, what a terrible anology but it works) very enjoyable on either side- what matters is that they both get their taste and fulfill the desire to communicate their interests to the stomach of their minds. Nobody's wrong or right in my mind, it's just observing whether the composer understands the joy of their hobby. ...and puts some bass in that shit.

Burritos are a bit like taco's aren't they?
They aren't big in Europe yet.
I would say most of the stuff I hear online is complete arsewipe - but every now and then you hear that absolute piece of genius that makes it all worth while and then stays with you for years.

Well this thread is now about burritos. No more brussel sprouts.
Here's the wikipedia explanation for a burrito:
Quote: The word burrito literally means "little donkey" in Spanish. The name burrito possibly derives from the appearance of a rolled up wheat tortilla, which vaguely resembles the ear of its namesake animal, or from bedrolls and packs that donkeys carried.
They look like so:

Wikipedia actually goes into the HISTORY of these things and burritos seem to have been around since the dark age in my head... Nobody ever thinks about the history of a burrito- it's almost like thinking about who made the first taco.
"Energizer bunny arrested- charged with battery."

Hey Swerve (and anyone else),
If you're keen on checking out some relatively mellifluous music with lots of melodic progression and all of that, check out this guy:

Found him a few years ago. You might'a also heard 'a this cat.

Seen that guy around in a couple places too. I like the first one better, personally.
PS-- How does anyone on Earth not know what a burrito is??

I think sometimes its a damn shame some artists dont get to ply their wares on the live stage with a full orchestra, the works! these two have the potential to be excellent in that arena, cheers for pointing em out to us/me.

Sorry, I'm gonna backtrack a little bit...
(((stereofect))) wrote:This reminds me of the Ejay/Acid bashing that went on back in the good ol' MP3.com days. And it was even worse when ReBirth came along...
Whoa! Yeah... I remember people talking about Rebirth and the Amen break, but I barely remember it. That was so long ago and I wasn't even writing music then, just a listener... or maybe I'm thinking of the early days of the electronicscene bulletin board (EBB/ESB, lol) don't remember.
As far as the main topic I haven't heard any songs so I don't have much to say other than I think it's all relative to one's perspective like Gideon said... and it's nice to know how to make a song using different methods, but certainly not necessary.
Most recent track: Tecknixia - Technology 2009 Version Strm Dnldnonzerosumgain.freeforums.org

I also recall heated threads in the non electronic forums at mp3.com where the artists felt the electronic artists must be cheating the charts since there was no way electronic music could be at the top.
