It looks like you found the right settings to use for youtube - the quality of this one is much better.
While the visuals are interesting, I'm feeling this would work better if you took the results here, and cut it up as 'samples' and sequenced it to your song.
As an experiment, try downloading this app http://www.muvee.com/en/products/ap/ap6 - it's a video remixing app where you give it a song, and it will create a mapping of the dynamics and other factors, then you feed it video, select a style, and it will chop the video up to your song. What's cool, is that you can do it over and over to the same video, and it will keep chopping it up more and more. This way you can remix your video in multiple styles, and remix all the styles together. At any point, you can take the results, and either use that as your final, or use it as source material for 'cuts and fades' to mix in with the original by hand using a video editor.

Yes, the quality is a lot better, although the filesize is much smaller...instead of Quicktime I used WMV. I don't know if any of the two is better; maybe the standard-settings of WMV were more suitable for YouTube...
Thanks for the tip, Gideon, I'll check the app....
Problem with the program I am using is that I can't really sync the images and music...well, I can in a live-situation, but when making a movie I can't.... I posted a question about this in the forums of the app. and it was read many times, but I didn't get an answer....

shoot - i forgot you are on a Mac. That app is pc only.
>>>well, I can in a live-situation, but when making a movie I can't
I see - so you'd have to capture a live mixing situation, can you do it that way with that app?

I'm on PC too, Gideon....(UT3 editing!)
It is possible to capture the vids, but only with an attached camera...

oh yeah - duh!
btw - I started playing Far Cry 2 a month ago. Cool game. It comes with an editor too, but it's a bit simplified when you compare it to UnrealEd. But... I was able to make a complete CTF map in a few mapping sessions, which was fun.
Are you enjoying the Titan pack for UT3? The Rails map is an interesting take on vCTF. I haven't played it too much, but I did try the Titan mutator on Crater Mining Camp, and that was a blast!!!!! I also tried my map with the Geed gametype and found it to be fun. I haven't tried the Betrayal gametype yet.

To be honest: most of what you are talking about is completeley new to me! Haven't done any editing the last couple of months...and played only a few times... But I'll check it soon....

Hey!
I'm back again.....i spent several hours working with Muvee Autoproducer and it's bigger brother Muvee Reveal.... Both apps didn't convince me...partly because I want more control over what I am doing, partly because sometimes the automatic movies were not in sync with the music at all....
This could be because I am a novice user, but what's worse is the fact that both programs crash and hang a lot....(on Vista). Sometimes even the reset-button on my PC didn't work and I had to unplug.....(!) Gideon, have you used on of the apps yourself? Or someone else on the forums?
Would like to hear from you!
BTW....just DL-ed a trial version of Pinnacle Studio 12; this also has the possibilty to sync the images to the music...so far the app. runs well....no crashing at all.....

Yes - I used it in the past - but on XP a few years ago. I have a very old version.
One of the good uses of this software is to create new raw material which you can then cut up and edit together in a video editing app. You can use it as a source for interesting cuts and fades, and hand sequence those sections in the video editing app, like Pinnacle Studio.
I have a few vids done with Muvee - here is one where I used footage from a vacation at Yosemite National Park:
that was created by running it though several styles on their own, then mixing those all together.

Ah...but I have a very good app. for that already.....making raw material is not the problem....it's syncing the material with the music.....

yes - that video is years old now. I haven't produced a new video in a long time, except the fly though videos of my maps. For that I used Fraps to capture, and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit.
