New Track "Androids On NH17"
Created on: 07/02/08 03:31 PM Replies: 12

Hi there,
A bit of new music from me! Been experimenting with some old school Zero G samples and cobbled together this little ditty Smile Usual thing from me, lots of ambiance, moodiness, and zippy analogue beats...oh and a dose of Star Trek!
Cool
Hope you like it Smile

Bueno! Downloaded to my SA Fred directory and now playing...

my initial feeling is that it reminds me of a Jack Dangers/Meat Beat Manifesto track - something about the beat w/ the blips and the bass.

quite chill almost sounds like you could push out an industrial mix/version of this track without altering it too much. This is Industrichill! Smile

Nice track Pete - thanks for posting.

Yeah man, great track. Very fluid with lots of atmosphere and vibe happening. Love that Star Trek sample Cool, right on.

If you don't mind me asking, what DAW are you using and how do you master? You produce high quality, clean work and I'm curious about difficulties in general.

I agree with Subtronik.... excellent track...!!

Cool, right on.

music...

cheers

Wow, cheers for those reviews fellas, glad you liked the track! Smile

I can see the Meat Beat Manifesto comparison...thats a good thing
Smokin'! The bass and star trek atmosphere's do it for me on that score, though I think a mild case of Jack Dangers possesion might have occurred without me realising
Wink Mind you I have been bouncing this track back and to with one of my coleagues at work ( a big Meat Beat Manifesto fan) he made some cool suggestions with the arrangement...Industrichill...that works for me Very Happy

I used Audiomulch to filter and effect the samples, and generate some more musical elements, and some of the more ambient beats, I used Izotope IDrum for the intricate zippy beats, assembled the whole thing in Sonar , mastered using Izotope Ozone
I can't sing the praises of Ozone enough to be honest, great program, excellent for someone who likes pictures and graphical representations of whats going on with thier frequencies!

Well in amongst those zero g samples there's Star Trek, various snippets from old 50's movies, a very famous Herbie Hancock bass riff (which I couldn't believe was on there), but I used it anyway, albiet in a un obvious almost unrecogniseable way (speed the track up, you might spot it)...and then I raided freesound.com, got the throat singing...love that Tuvan throat singing sound. By this point I was on a complete sample roll and added in some...shall we say Rochester punch Wink

Cheers again all for listening!

Pete

This is like driving music... but... underwater.

Smile

The reverb is amazing.
Very very good work- it's a keeper!

I started using Sonar Home Studio 6 early part of this year. Lovin' it.

Cool, right on.

My first (((stereofect))) DAM release on MP3.com was made with AudioMulch. Very cool proggy.

The Izotope FX suite. Wow..!! Too rich for my blood, though. I'll hafta stick to my freebie KarmaFX's for now.

Wink

Seriously, Pete. You always make quality tracks. More please..!!

Very Happy

cheers

I like a bit of reverb, using the FX reverb in Sonar with massive, almost infinite decay...its like being in space Cool
...or at least thats the idea...or underwater Smile

AudioMulch is THE program for ambient textures and soundscapes...just put it all through some risset filters and away to go! Smile
Izotope Ozone is pretty reasonable and excellent value for money IMHO, I got it because it wasn't that expensive...I nearly plumped for T-Racks but that seemed to colour the sound more, also very good though! Not familiar with KarmaFX, but if thats working for you then your sorted Smile
If it aint broke, don't fix it Smile

Cheers mate, glad you like it, thats why we make the tracks...its enjoyable to make them in the first instance...then to know that others are enjoying it also is great. Music is to be shared and enjoyed by everyone...otherwise, whats the point music...

That sums it up nicely, cheers Smile
...The nebulous and abstractly funky bassline was played in 1974/75 ish...travelled through time, ended up on a sample CD as a 1.5 ish second snippet loop. This then ended up being played through AudioMulch's loop player at a very slow speed at which point it became something evolved and synchronised into a new existence. However it still has, as old Greg the Funky Merman would say..."Got the Funk"
Very Happy

Cheers all,

Pete

Well... I've been playing with the "demo" of Ozone and.... WOW.... atsa nice...!!

Seriously... this plugin really manages some amazing things. What it does to audio is pretty cool. The warp factor is outta sight. Still... there's not enough blue blood in me to afford it right now (it's $250) but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna save those nickels and dimes up for a future purchase. Thanks for bringing it to my (and others) attention.

Cool, right on.

cheers
