Ha! not a big fan of vocals as a rule, but this was fun. you've got an intriguing vice (that'd be 'voice' I mean ) that lent itself well to the character of the piece. great music too. like the twists & tilts.

Yeah!! Michael drops by~ can always count on ya for a good one.
Thanks, yes I hear ya on how vocals just aren't the greatest sound- I agree. This is probably the only one I'll do for a long, looong time because that was a bitch to perfect, and even though I know my voice was weak here & there- I was willing to call it good... edit: Especially when I was having so much trouble recording my voice over at my brother's house- his G-friend's got not one, but TWO freakin doves and the walls are like paper!! I had so many good audio clips of doves talking back & forth... And his pitbull loved to come trotting into the room where I was recording because she needs attention etc...
It was very fun though, and I'm glad you liked the story.
edit no.2: I also checked out Kit W. very very cool musician! thanks for telling/reminding me of him.

huh? no, not at all. that was a typo I decided to leave in. your vocals work fine - particularly for the nature of the track. kinda zappa-ish. but you carry them off without a hitch.
bottom line for me, I'm into the music side and I really dig all the cool ideas you use.
I once saw a performance of Weather Report and their percussionist had a whole table full of instruments. he was constantly picking one up, playing it, and then moving on to another, maybe he'd use something a few times, maybe just once. the way you use sounds in your tracks strikes me the same way. icotec and Neotone come to mind as often building with the same variety. good lesson there for those of us that might overwork a good thing - me included.
anyway, rambling on... the vocals work. but for me the track works because of of your sound and the way you arrange it.
btw, we used to have parakeets and often had to record in the living room in our old place. the 'keets actually made it on to a track (Jaguar Moon over on Misha's SoundClick page) which was a laugh, but I left it in, and actually I thought it worked out quite nicely.

No worries, I knew what you were talking about. I hear the music mainly too, I've never been a big fan of vocals unless I can really hear them well. (Pir8's Uncrush comes to mind)
And yes, it's very hard to find one sound we want to stick with huh? It must be a common trait among avid composers like us. And Frode has got a pretty bad case of it I agree.
And your tune Kehawkqas... (I forget how to spell!!) same thing going on- you fit into the club quite well. And that tune really reminds me of John Cage...
No, no- I'm not going to bash john cage again. In fact, I'm glad I kinda called myself on it earlier because I have learned over time to respect that kind of composing. I'm used to 'understanding' and I just couldn't see it with that; so I attacked it. Slowly I've realized it's waaay more into texture than I could let myself hear. (or maybe it's a thing against conk shells & goat hooves) I dunno.
Just bad events in the past hooked on that's all. It's all about the initial mood you use to listen for me, I'm always wanting things to move along to fabulous melody etc... (there, done nuetralizing myself) hehe.
Anyway, yeah the birds can squeeze into a microphone so easily at their pitch! I almost came to a point where I thought they were doing it on purpose to me!

ah well, thanks Michael I always appreciate your thoughtful outlooks.

hehe, thanks guys. The bass synth seems to be a bit too fat for me... And the other synth solo I know is completely different when it enters after the conga solo.
Other than that I'm proud of my noob approach to singing.
Cute+unplanned+weird=happy kylo.
