uh-oh, my hand must have slipped and pressed the record button.
(and then slipped again and uploaded the little bugger.)
the elephant says it's better speaker-listening than headphone listening.
hope everyone has been well. looking forward to crawling around the new music that I see has been flowing from some of you!

Pretty neat!
I'm a sucker for anything electronic that has naturalistic leanings.
What's it done with?

thanks for listening, glad you liked it.

this was all done in reaktor. pretty much everything I do I do with reaktor and cool edit. this particular ensemble uses a couple of fm sine oscillators and filters and lfo-modulated envelopes for the "melodies," a sine and impulse generator for the bass drum, and am/fm noise w/sine for snare sounds. all of these things are routed through a matrix mixer to modulate each other and to also send various voices out to a couple of different granular instruments with several xy interfaces to let me control multiple parameters of the grains on the fly. it was all recorded live and afterward I made a few snips in cool edit, ran a bit of compression, and that was that!

Hmm, this has inspired me to get my copy of Marblebarrel out, haven't listened to it in a while. Clicky, kinda groovy, nice melodic bits. I like the change of texture around 2.20. Hmm, yes, this is nice. I've been completely out of touch with IDM type stuff for a while now but I'm enjoying it a lot.

Nice bass interval to groove. I like how you've made it somewhat mysterious at the beginning. The melodic synth sounds great in the progressing to the riff. I hope you add more- this is catchy already!

hi Roland! I'm doing well these days, thanks! making lots of tunes again (both electronic, acoustic/vocals, and combinations of the two), and work has been good and interesting. It feels good to be making music again though, that's for sure. I'm hoping to get out and do some more shows by summer...I haven't wanted to play again until I could be trying out all new machines and leaving my old ones out of the set.
thanks for checking the tune! more to come...
