ok the game was called 'wizards & warriors 2: Ironsword'. for several years i was going over the idea in my head and even have several failed attempts. this sounds like what i was first envisioning..

The way this starts out makes me think abstract 'Tainted Love'.
Very nice sound quality. Dark techno/rave is definitely your thing, I say go with that.

aye, triplets are the key to creating some of the most catchy music. it may be better for guitar though.
