A new song For a while before & after new years I had an inner ear infection & was unable to do anything involving music or sound. This is the first track I made after that was over..
Hellscion - Surface
"what'd you guys do to my f***ing tea"

Not bad. Good audio quality.
Stays pretty interesting throughout.
I don't like the ramping kicks.
Some hollow vocal distortion would be great here.

Im guessing you're talking about the kick drumroll that comes in occasionally. Yeah I need to work on the drums a little more.. they sound kinda 'quantized'. Thanks for listening, though

Maybe if you effected the drum rolls in someway it would be better.
As they are they sound kind of bland and generic.

Yeah, definately. I also need to find a way to plug in a microphone. I've been hearing more and more over the last year that my songs are missing vocal elements..

Even a crappy mic would work. Just use something like speakerphone after you record to big it up.

Good idea. guitar rig was also really effective in that area from what i remember.
Time to search through the mountains of junk & rubble on the property.. Man I should be a musical legend for things like this

When you build your own synthesizer out of old computer parts, then you might be more legendary.

heh, that reminds me.. have you noticed that modded synths generally have a weak sound?

Yeah, but if you run them through effects they can sound huge.

True.. But honestly that is waay out of my skill level.
Forgot to mention the inside joke about throwing the 'legend' term around so loosely. There is an artist called 'burial' who makes really crappy dubstep, yet most of his fans for some reason refer to him as a legend.
Heh, yea legendary right?? Like many who aren't fans of his music.. I really dont get it. Sounds like another kid using frootyloops to make crappy techno...

Not a bad tune, like the chords, the rhythm is a bit boring to me... I would definitely try a totally different rhythm on this one.....

Got this on stream now: I'm liking the dark style intro, cool synth bass, like the way its doing a ring modulating change, also liking the kick triplet beat breaks. I'm sensing the beat could do with a bit more perhaps...perhaps some additional element to ramp up the brooding tension. Like the pads, and the sound as it expands works nicely, there is, as said a feeling of tension building in this track...which doesn't quite resolve itself, I feel the track has got more to say yet. But, it sounds lovely, nice use of sounds, nice range...needs more though.
Cheers, Pete

Thanks for the feedback abc, SA Fred I think I know what to do with this track now.. Seeming like the synths are fine just the drums need a little more to them.
