You know that Ron “Ronco” Popeil dude and his ever expanding line of products?
Well... I was flippin' through the channels just now and the show where he's hawkin' his "Showtime Rotisserie" is on. I come in at the part where he's puttin' a whole chicken on the spike things in order to ready it for the cooker and he's using his bare hands. Okay, that's not so bad, right? Well... he finishes skewering the bird and then walks over with it to the oven, opens the door, puts in the chicken, closes the door, adjusts the "set it and forget it" dial and then walks back to the counter. I'm thinkin'... OK... he's gonna wash his hands and then wipe down the oven, and countertop and utensils he's been using before continuing. But nope... he just reaches under the counter and grabs a roast of beef with his same filthy chicken goo covered hands and repeats what he did with the chicken. Skewer, carry, place, close, set and walk away.
Ewww....
Then the other stooge with him starts handling all the stuff Ron has been handling and even touches the surfaces of the ovens, utensils, counter, etc. Then his daugther comes in and does the same thing.
There was no editing, no fast-forward takes or anything, just straight flow from one thing to another, right in front of the audience.
YUCK!!!
I mean.. am I crazy or is that not the most unhealthy, disgusting way to sell a product!?!
