Bad Lucy

Back as promised and trying to stay on the reverbaholics anounomous wagon. Lucy scale being used, key is D and something like a chord progression.

you really are on a posting songs spree. great. Smile
they get better and better too.. or so it seems. this one has an excellent build-up.. it doesn't feel rushed or sketchy at all. love all the sounds. Cool, right on.

Grabbing now, will listen later.

As always thanks Ludo Smile

I am surprised at the amount of guitar like sounds that I have in this one, even though it is all Metasynth. Also, it was very hard to resist the urge to drench everything in reverb and delay, but after I stumbled on to the "beeping" sound that you hear at the very begining, I knew that a drier approach was needed.

I may have to add the Amplitude plug-in to my list of addictions

I really like the percussion. The high pitched noises, not so much.

This has a Frank Zappa feel. Quirky and playful.

Sub - you made my day with your percussion comment, since I feel that my percussion skills are one of the weaker aspects of my music. Smile

As far as the high pitched noises, well one of them is based on a James Brown scream and I just had to get it in somewhere. I also like to hear all the dogs in my neighborhood howl when I play this track Twisted Evil

you're on a roll, Mike.

funny, one of my favorite elements was the high pitch stuff...great knowing that it's James Brown, that dude can squeal.

as annoying as the following type of comment is to get, uh, I'll do it anyway! I was dyin' for that break at 1:00 to give birth to an old fashion P9 sub bass...

it's been an interesting progression. my earliest memories of your music are very dub flavored. the next batch I recall started to pull in a little evil backwoods twang, and the Lucy sessions seem to be further expanding on that, in terms of busy melodies/accompaniments.

Weird - would make good ad music.

I find the juxtaposition between odd sounds (that work together nicely) with fairly plain tonality behind it all - strange to say the least.

This definately has something about it. I think I would like to hear a girl singing on the top of it. The last bit is my favourite.

Well done - this is a cool track. Smokin'!

Doof - thanks for the listen. Glad you like the JB scream, I am sure he'll be popping up in other tunes. The song has the standard issue P9 pure sine wave bass, but I guess you want me to drop it an octave or two.

yeah banjos will do that to you Very Happy But that's definately an Obliminal thang

Dub will always be a heavy if not primary influence on my stuff, but right now I am really trying to work on my metasynth "voice". Standing with one tool may be limiting in some ways, but it does force me to really explore everything the tool has to offer and the tool is way deep.

Danny K - many thanks for yoru comments, glad you liked it.

That's why I keep my tunes so short Razz

Are you talking about that I used a D G A maj chord progression?

I think I am going to do a series of Lucy scale pieces and keep going up the scale, so the next one will be in the key of E. I'll entertain suggestions as far as what standard P9 sonic you would like to hear in this one.

after I read that I remembered that I listened to it on these little ear plug thingies here at The Office®. I should be listening on the hi fi.

Me too...so why can't I limit myself to use one tool?
