valvogoth: ambient track for all you cube farmers
Created on: 04/19/09 10:59 AM Replies: 4

Okay, I went really overboard last night and produced 22 minutes of stuff designed to be played softly by people sitting in cubicles. (At work, that is. Those of you who sit in cubicles for fun will have to wait.)

It's called valvogoth, and the idea is to add a bit of steampunk ambiance.

Here are links to the full-size version on last.fm:

Here's a nine minute edit at Soundclick:

(And for something completely different, here's another new track that's under a minute:

Bookmarked.

Big sound. What's the source?

Good audio quality. Like most of the sounds.

Thanks!

Here's the whole process:

6 bar loop created in Digital Performer 3 -> routed into two MIDI tracks tweaked with effects like the arpeggiator, params of which I fiddled with live as I went.

Then some editing of the resulting MIDI tracks, also within DP3.

That MIDI file of two tracks taken to Ableton Live Lite on a different machine and, using a couple synth patches -> routed into audio, while fiddling live with params on F/X and the synth patches.
