i like that bass (intro) nice effect. maybe turn up the drumbreak a little. once the "real" beat gets going, i think it's a little louder, which is better. the synths mix well with the rest. (1.08, yeah a headbopper) is this a mangled up buddha vocal thing? hehe reminds me of a very old sendy track. this is a pro track, production is top notch. maybe put in one or two radical elements, ah maybe not. i like it. it's easy going

Very nice track - but I always liked your approach to dub.
My only comment would be that the guitar is too "Police" sounding. I know that a thin sound would work best on this track, maybe less chorus. But I am just a distortion fool when it comes to guitars

>> Great track,
thank you - I'm glad you enjoy it.
>>is this a mangled up buddha vocal thing?
It was done with "Delay Lama" - grab it here
If you try it, you'll need to use a midi controller to modulate the pitch and other settings in order to get something that sounds good - otherwise it sounds a bit flat.

>> this is a pro track, production is top notch
awe shucks ludo thanks - but i'm still INDIE!
>>maybe put in one or two radical elements, ah maybe not.
I was going to add a section where it breaks down for a few minutes - but it just didn't feel right
>>Very nice track - but I always liked your approach to dub.
muchas gracias. I'll have to thank OTT and Shpongle for that. I've been quite inspired by their music - it sounds SO right.
>>guitar is too "Police" sounding
wow - nice observation... i never picked up on that, but it does in a way. You are probably right - it was a 12string and it didn't need any chorus.
>> But I am just a distortion fool when it comes to guitars
Have no fear - crusty sound is near. Actually - i have a new one that reminds me of the Talking Heads - and I'm trying a completely dry sound on it. maybe you'd want to colab? I can render a vew variations of where it's at right now if you'd like.
Thanks for the listens and feedback guys. If you'd like me to check out a song and give feedback, just ask.

Sure bring it on
Funny I have been playing my 12string non stop for about a week now. I record a track and the first thing I did was run it thru Amplitude. It sounds great with nothing, but I just love way overdriven 12strings sound. It was my main guitar when I was in a band.

Cool concept~ And I was gonna echo Ludo about the sendy sound. But-- I want to add on that; that the galactic alignment voice popped back into style! I heard that voice just groovin' along, I loved it.
Something about this one is really fun sounding because of that voice...
It actually reminds me of Tuvan throat singing...
Great work on a completely new idea! X cellent!

you too can have a monk of your very own!
Just think... you could multi-track the monk in harmony
Thanks for checking it out Kylo - and for recalling Galactic Alignment. Glad you liked I wonder if sendy gave it a listen if he would think it sounded like him? Where is the absurdist one?

I like it
Reminds me a bit of my style in 2001/2, yeah... And I used that monk voice in a song called "Bask" that was fairly popular on this site if I remember correctly
I like the new chords that come in to add variation. So many electronica songs forget about this
By the way, I'm a she now. Well technically I'm an androgyne but whatever
I will teach you the significance of insignificance

great track, Gideon! really.
yeah man, your mixing is right on with this one. too often I feel like guitars in electronic music sound out of place because they're not mixed or produced well enough. but this all sits right down in there tightly. excellent work, I really enjoyed this one.
funny that you and P9 were just talking collab - his new track and yours are back to back in my media player and I had the same thought...

Thanks for the listen Sendy
I'm listening to Bask right now, and I don't really hear the similarities - no doubt your tracks rocks , but to me, this has a "Luke Vibert" feel which Noosphere doesn't seem to capture. Breaks, yes, chanting monk yes - but it seems to end there. Man, I love how you work that snare. Those bird calls remind me of Vibert too. Ooooo - nice breakdown at 4:30 - love those bass drops BASS BASS BASS!
John - thanks for the listen and review.
>>too often I feel like guitars in electronic music sound out of place because they're not mixed or produced well enough
yeah - especially if the guitar parts are not sampled/cut up and are recorded in the more traditional sense. I think it helped that the guitar part that follows the bassline has an octave effect and some other processing, and that the rhythm was a bit drenched in chorus and reverb. The percussion is a bit weak on this one though.
ok - now if I could only sit down and finish at least one of the 5-6 unfinished tunes on my PC.
