I had a very interesting time the other day engineering a session with a Classical Iranian Lute player for an Art's Council funded short animation. Really nice stuff that I thought I would share with you guys:
The Fish
A change from the usual but I thought you guys might dig it. No downloads...sorry.

I always find it amazing how Iran, of all the countries in that region, is a cultural melting pot as well as a source that has spread globally; music, mythologies, etc.
this starts out almost apalachian bluegrass, glides into a heavily into a gypsy flavor and the last half had me thinking of digging out my Robbie Basho albums.
thx.

like a fisshhh... awesome.
love the way it progresses. the piece does very well to anticipate my response (and questions) while listening. what do I mean? I'm not quite sure... but that's how it feels
super stuff. makes me want to dig out my recordings from a live session I engineered/produced with this fusion sextet (tablas, sarod, vocals, flute, roland handsonic, bass guitar).
thanks for sharing indeed!
