While developing educational content in the virtual world of Second Life™ I have found it to be a surprisingly rich venue for music. Lately, I am thinking more and more that there is a new angle to promote music...just have not found it, yet. Here are some links, if you are curious:

The music venues in SecondLife (SL) are dazzling, the live performances... breathtaking.
I am currently sorting through the many streams posted by SL users at this wiki entry:

Active streams become records in a community database, with social sharing features in the works (tagging, faves, subscriptions). Much is in place; however, this project could use input from folks such as yourself (and others here at AS). SL's 3-D virtual reality simulator (check out the physics engine!) represents Web3.0, IMO. Many top tier designers and developers are rubbing virtual elbows in an extra-ordinary environment. Look for me in world, Account registration is free.

azwaldo - when you post a link to a YouTube or Vimeo video, use the 'video' button on the posting form - it is on the far right. Click the button once, then paste in your YouTube video link, then click the button again to close it. Then when the page is viewed, people will see your video instead of just a link or URL.
