Love in Outer Space (2:19)
Spacey dub sonics over a throbbing ambient beat.
Listen Now
Listen Later
Listen Never

note: I had no idea my AN200 was capable of anything like this, but Sonar 6 makes it possible

Very cool man. Love the squelchy arping line. I'm a little disappointed with how short it is but good work anyway.

now playing...
the low pulse, that's my favorite part - I think you could have started with it and faded in - giving it some time to do it's thing alone.
seem more of an experiment for a track idea - I think you could expand this out and shape it into a longer piece.
i'm not so fond of the arpeg. line - I think a low cut filter on it would help it blend more
I like the elements, it just seems to happen in a compressed time.

Love the sounds here, lot's of FM modulation? Obviously i'm bias as i have one of these myself
Really good rythms that suit the overall track and keep it busy but without losing the overall ambience
Yeah, definitely needs to be longer...
Have you played this one live?

A nice, short little dose of music. It works well. Good listen!

Heh . . . right into the Token Wonder folder for later plunderin'

later: LMAO oh shit! I forgotten I'd loaded this on another tab: http://www.youtube.com/ytscreeningroom?v=v2gBZwsXx8g
So I was actually listening to it and yours simultaneously. Both were cutting in and out the result was . . . how you say . . . deranged frivolity . . . ? I was all 'this doesn't sound like anything Stevie's done before . . . lol

100% this week. And the skys are gonna be clear far as I know. I'll be able to sit in my backyard and enjoy the view.

Yes... you are correct. It is an experiment. Just seeing what I can come up with really. All part of the learning process, eh? Figure out something cool and the first instinct is to wanna show it off.

No real intension for it to "stand up as a piece of music" as has been suggested. Though, shortness not withstandiing, I do think it works quite well as a sort of interlude type piece... if you're willing to really give a chance. Not sure why, but it reminds me of the music playing in the background during the sex bar scene in the movie Outland.

Oh... and the filter idea is a really good one, Gideon. Thanks. I'll work on it.

Ah, someone who can appreciate how much fun a tabletop synth can be.

Big yes on the modulation question.
This is a four track tune. Two audio tracks, two midi tracks. The midi section is/was pre-programmed inside Sonar (the sequencer in the AN200 is too problematic) and the audio was captured elsewhere in two passes. External control of the AN200 was via a Oxy8, Seq303 and the onboard knobs. I also have the AN200 patched into a Zoom G1 for added mindbending excitement.
