Greece is burning

I was hoping to hear something possitive about Greece this morning when I read the news. I was hoping some of the fires had been contained, that people were getting the help they need, but it seems to only have gotten worse. It appears the best they can do now is try and helicopter a few people out of a village at a time as the destruction and death tolls rise. They suspect arsonists. Some think this is over land development. I'm just sad and scared.
Taken from today's news:
From Sunday morning to Monday morning alone, 89 new fires broke out, fire department spokesman Nikos Diamandis said.
"This is an immense ecological disaster," said Theodota Nantsou, WWF Greece Conservation Manager. "We had an explosive mixture of very adverse weather conditions, tinder-dry forests — to an extent not seen for many years — combined with the wild winds of the past two weeks. It's a recipe to burn the whole country."
And this leaves me wondering...has anyone heard from Themis???

I traded emails with Themis on the 24th after reading about the fires. He's ok other than grief for country & countrymen & concern about the future since over the years many of the forests have permanently vanished due to fire.
uncontrolled forest fire is one of the scariest things I can think of. seems crazy that some places are on fire while others (like texas!) are flooding.

Thank you, Michael! It's good to he is well at least in body, if not in spirit.  I have clients in Texas who are losing their businesses due to the flooding. Floods and fires are so scary! Today we are 'celebrating' the second anniversary of Katrina...and just look at New Orleans! It's still a mess!
I'm so depressed.
