WSG - test number 1

OK... here ya go. This is sound test number one from the Weird Sound Generator:
Stream - 6:01mins @ 128kbps
It's definitely NOT musical... not at this stage. It's more drone than anything. And harsh. This thing is super sensitive in the knob tweaking area. And you can detune the two osc's while tweaking the rate of modulation. The 'spread' between the two osc's becomes more obvious and the cut-off and resonance increases as we move through the sound test. Right now I have it patched through a ZOOM TM-01 to "beef up" the sound.
This is strictly a KNOB test this time. I'll get to the SWITCHES with the next test.

Hope you dig it and don't find it too

I like that. Reminds me of sitting in your car through one of those nifty car washes. Gives off a great warmth! I can see this noise being an awesome live show for a daft punk fan or somethin. I wouldn't mind cutting this up and using some of the sounds either in fact...
Trouble is that I still haven't figured out how to use Reason 2.5 to cut up and seperate sounds for making a remix or something good like that. I think I really need to upgrade soon.

Cool. Reminds me of the sounds I get from my kurzweil k2000. 32 algorithm shapers turn noise into warm insanity.

Oh... and so far as I'm able to determine, the switches really only accentuate the modulation. That is to say they don't change the dimensions of the pitch or tone so much but rather subtly alter the transient ways the sound is patched through the filter.
And you can get some pretty decent, albiet short, sequences out of this puppy by using ever so slight adjustments of the pitch and rate knobs.
