Excellent!
I want a VCS-3 Yeah, like i can afford one!
I´m sure the DX-7 and possibly the SY-77 will be in there, the mini moog of course and the ARP 2600, perhaps a Korg Wavestation and a Yamaha FSR-1? Of course the Nord Lead or more likely the Nord Modular. Wondering about the software or is this just for pure hardware synths?

There's no way I could afford, let alone maintain, any of those ol' classics.
So I settle for the virtual versions. More affordable for me. The ARPs are my all-time favs. I use Arturia's version of the 2600 and plan on getting the Minimoog and Modular versions when I have more computing power (I only have a P3 right now). I also have GForce's version of the Odyssey as well and really love it.
Great stuff!!

Oh, and I also use Korg's Legacy Collection (MS-20, Poly-Six and Wavestation version) and thinks it's incredible!!
I wanted to get the version that came with the usb MS-20 controller but it was more money and not in my meager budget. So I settled for the software version only.

I had the fortunate pleasure of setting up a VCS-3 every night for 6 weeks when I toured with Meat Beat Manifesto as Jack Dangers' back-line technician. It was a fun job.
One thing I remember most about setting it up was that I had absolutely no idea how to work the thing, and so I didn't touch it ever (except to plug in all the cables) for fear of messing up his settings. He wouldn't have minded if I did touch it, but I thought: Expensive, vintage equipment, Todd, do not break this or you will be dead!
So I left it alone. He could really make it sing though and every night at sound check he would make some wicked crazy noises with it and sample it into his sampler on stage, then later in the show at some point, he would trigger the sample with his keyboard, you never knew when. This way he could go over and mess it up, change all the settings, experiment, and always know that he could trigger that cool sample later.
I dream of having one of those too, maybe when I win the lotto. That and the ARP 2600.

Hmm... seeing as Dr. R.A.Moog was so instrumental (no pun intended) in creating the VCO and with incouragement the VCA and then later the VFC, Envelope Follower and Generator, ADSR, Fixed Filter Bank, etc., I'm willing to bet that the #1 synth will have his name attached to it. My personal choice would be:

Certainly not because of its ease of use, but more for how much influence it had on what direction the future of synths would take. Some pretty important people bought into the idea of using them, i.e. Walter (later Wendy) Carlos, Keith Emerson, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Rick Wakeman, Gershon Kingsley.... the list could on and on.
If not that then prob'ly the Minimoog.
That's my guess.....

Oh, yeah i want one of those as well, with the controller and miniature patch cords
I downloaded the demo and used a regular controller and the MS-20 and the rest were brilliant. The MS-20 sounded deadly fat. The Wavestation really sounded great & authentic with 11 banks of sound, i used to own a Wavestation EX, when it came out and i couldn´t tell the difference. Also to be able to use any audio in the synth path, i.e. filter, LFO, etc, is a killer feature

Yeah, the Polysix and the MS-20 emulations are excellent. I really lurve the Polysix. Always wanted one and now I have one. And yes, this version of the Wavestation is amazing. And being able to import Wavestation sysex means you can grab any of the hundreds of patches off Da Net and load 'em up. Dude I bought the collection from on Craigslist was kind enough to break up the set and keep the controller. He said he'd have no problem selling it anyways as they've become quite collectable. And the collection works great with my Oxygen8 anyways so it's no loss to me.

Yeah, would love one but would settle for the legacy version!
I at least have #8, which is JV-1080 with a couple of expansions, excellent synth, don´t agree with the guy saying it is like a D-110, i have both and the D-110 is a bloody nightmare compared with the JV-1080.
So the Nordlead was only at #17?? So the modular must be high up and so must the minimoog and the DX-7
And the Roland Modular system and the Synclavier + PPG? I´m a regular synth nerd.
