Hey,
I've just joined this site. I'm a musician as well as working a little bit in the music industry. I work for Noise pop in San Francisco, producers of the annual Noise Pop Festival – a weeklong celebration of indie music, film, art and culture. I've recently been working with two companies called OurStage and Mozes. As a fellow musician and working within the music business, I feel like these are a great opportunities for up and coming musicians to promote their music and also offers a number of additional benefits.
OURSTAGE To www.ourstage.com/noisepop It's a content site with some social networking features but instead of friends (like on Myspace) you build a fanbase. Fans vote on their favorite music in various categories in monthly competitions. The winner received $5,000 as well as opportunities like live showcases at events such as CMJ and Boonaroo, studio time and press coverage. It's free to sign up and soon in addition to helping them win monthly competitions fans will also be able to download their favorite artists’ music for $.99 a song with all proceeds going to the artist.
MOZES It's unique in that it connects bands and their fans via mobile phone as well as internet. Bands can send info about shows, releases MP3's etc to their network. Artists new and well established such as Death Cab for Cutie, Fall Out Boy and Korn are only a few that are building communities and networking through Mozes. http://www.mozes.com/
Check em out!

hi juliezee1 - How long have you been using ArtistServer? We offer a nice collection of tools and services for artists. Did you check out the ringtones section? We can send them both from our mobile site, and from the Web. They're free, give it a try
Ourstage seems a bit like a music version of 'hot or not'.
Mozes looks interesting.
