It's like a wind tunnel were I am. We have had very high winds for over two weeks now. Nothing damaged . . . yet

Winds are currently blowing in from the west at 11km/h and it's 3 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
Unseasonably warm for this time of year. Looks like a green Xmas for us.

not right now, but this time of year it's not unusual to have 25-35 mph winds day & night with gusts to 60+. that's pretty much what we've been doing for the last few weeks. but today it's beautiful blue skies & sunshine... and about 10 degrees. cut water, carry wood. lost a few trees there, eh?

Steve, I don't know how you can stand it. I guess a person gets used to it after a while but my cousin called me a few nights ago from Wyoming and he told me that it was 25 below!! He also said your snot freezes and it hurts like hell...
sorry had to add that.
And yes, we lost about 5 trees in our front yard- the back yard was full of mostly white oak, so nothing fell. Black oaks have been used as pillars to build castles in Switzerland- I was pretty amazed when I saw that about 5 years ago.
Anyway it's been 25 degrees around here lately, high 30s in the day.  And I'm a wuss- I hate cold. I'm probably going to move to California or Florida- I need warmer weather. And no- no Texas, already tried that one.

You guys are great... Linda & I used to fart back & forth on the phone if that nuetralizes the situation gid. We'd say the classic "Hey- before I forget, I've been meaning to tell you this; it's really important..."

Yeah, we get weird weather round here. We're right between Lake Huron and Lake Erie which tends to create a tunneling type effect with wind and cold during the winter months. The cold air travels striaght down Lake Huron from the arctic and always makes a sharp left accross South-Central Ontario. In the winter we get what's called "streamers" off Lake Huron. On a weather map they literally look like fingers of snow that stretch for miles/kms and can catch you off-guard when you're driving. One minute you get clear sunny skies, then WHAM... whiteouts like crazy.
