NASA has been waking up astronauts with music since the beginning of the manned space program. Now, they not only want you to pick the music, but also submit your own for STS-134, the last space shuttle mission.
Submit your own composition by January 10, 2011. The entries will be screened by a NASA panel of expert space DJs or non-expert space nerds. The top selections will be posted on February 8, 2011, and then people would be able to vote them (that massive whisper you are hearing is 4chan users, getting their plan ready). The two top songs will then be played on STS-134.
More info here: https://songcontest.nasa.gov/home.aspx
note: the info on the site says 1-2min max, and 1.5 MB max... so that means you'll probably have to encode at 96kbps - or - try VBR - or - try mono and VBR together.

they most likely don't have 12in sub woofers installed on the space shuttle
that would be sweet though, cruising around the planet, blasting some heavy music

I made a preview version of Soak and faded it out around 1:35.
My description was about how Astro/cosmonauts never get enough sun while on board so why not give them a morning tune that's full of that?
Steve- I knew you were gonna get in on this too!!

With the recent report that human muscular strength atrophies over time in a weightless environment, I'm tempted to record something with a hypnotic "You're getting weeeeeaker ..." over the top of it.
