Various Artists - Reciclotropicodelia # 1 (PTDM021, 2009)

Reciclotropicodelia # 1 is the first volume in our new compilation series, containing exclusive versions and remixes from tracks previously published @ Psicotropicodelia Music.
It is also a way, along with Volume IV compilation, to celebrate special items from our first two active years.
On the 8 tracks, we can check references to Volumes 2 (2007) and 3 (200 compilations; to "Era dos Mortos" ["Era Of The Dead"] movie ost (2007); to Eps from the brazilian The Inhuman Project and ZandoZ Corp. (both released on 200 ; and to the album from dutch producer EatMe (2009). "Recycles" of important sound pieces from our short history.
Prepare yourself for the insane soundscapes, more effervescent than ever: breaks, industrial, idm, noise, drum n' bass; digital dirt, collages, psychedelia: to those with a made-up mind and those who are familiar to our journey, all this madness makes a lotta sense!

Download Options: Individual Mp3s (320 kbps) + Ogg Vorbis; Full Zip pack (Mp3 320 kbps); Streaming (64 kbps); Full Artwork.

While you know i'm no fan of spam - I have to say that these posts, while strictly promotional, aren't really spam. If the guy was asking us to join their label or collective, or was trying to sell something - then yes, it would be spam. But this is about sharing free music, which is a good thing.
I think the era of forums is coming near an end. While I'm sure there are plenty of lively forums out there, it just isn't a core of the Web experience any longer. It's more about blogs, tweets, video, and posting on people's "walls." To me, a blog, a forum, a wall, etc. are all just the same thing, and I'm sure a lot of other people see it the same way.
So in conclusion, yes, please continue to have a zero tolerance policy towards spam, but if someone is only posting here to share peoples music - let's cut them some slack. Especially in this case, where this person is promoting many people - not just himself.
AlienAqtor - I hope you and your friends will consider participating at ArtistServer by creating artist accounts and posting some of your music here.

It wouldn't bother me at all if he'd do more than flyer the forum with every post. It makes this place feel very sterile.
Would it be so hard to say "hey guys, hope all is well, here's something new to check out"?
I hate robo ads anywhere I see them, free stuff or not. It's one of the main reason I stopped watching television. I'm beginning to think it's a spambot anyway.

Well, The forum index says "Music"
don't see anything wrong with posting honest free music here... There's no extra adding on thses posts than the music itself, I know its not related to a Music server profile [will be creating a proper one for 2010] but I been posting within a weekly/bi-weekly schedule for not exceeding the rights on doing it.
I'm not posting topics selling viagra/cialis, porn stuff, weird non-music related items... But the hate-filled answers got what they want; this is the last post here, at least for a while...

Thanks for making it clear, Mister!
I dont see why so much aggressive feedback, we're a brazilian tiny netlabel who believe what we do, against all odds; who release music from a lot of artists who otherwise dont see reasons why publishing their works on a country which doenst give any attention to experimental/hard-labelling electronic music.
We'll def go on with a profile here over the next year.
Have a very cool Xmas/ N.Y.'s day! Big ups from the tropics! Harlem "AlienAqtor"

You're right, they're more like the mass of faceless junk mail I get at my house everyday.
Have you noticed that the only time he ever interacts with us is when he gets upset because he's called out? I'd rather see a poster angrily act human than casually act robotic.
And Gideon, if there's a place for this type of impersonal advertising on artistserver I think you should get some actual paying advertisers to help cover site costs. It would be the same to me and we'd all get something in return, a site that doesn't die due to lack of funds.

faceless junkmail?
We'll just ignore his posts, just like you probably toss the junkmail. Or, your could stream their music and give it a try: http://www.archive.org/download/V.A._-_Reciclotropicodelia_1/V.A._-_Reciclotropicodelia_1_vbr.m3u
the tracks are interesting, a bit experimental, unique, and free.
>>> if there's a place for this type of impersonal advertising on artistserver
the forums and/or one's blog, or an artist profile page would be the place to promote your music on the site. The only 'ads' people can buy on the site are textual and minimal. Plus, these guys are artists - like ourselves, who don't have money, have music and want to share it. To be clear here... it these posts were not about free music, I would feel differently about them. Since it is free music being shared, I welcome it.
>>>I think you should get some actual paying advertisers to help cover site costs
we do have some ads - but they don't pay out well, because the majority of the online ad industry is based on clicks - so if people don't click though an ad, we don't get much at all. I would have to place annoying and in-your-face ads that are animated and take over the whole page to truly generate any ad revenue... and that would be lame... like MySpace is horribly lame. If you have to be annoying to make any revenue with a site, I'd rather be broke and barely survive. But this is a whole different topic.
My feeling... is that NetLabels could take off again as a trend, and ArtistServer is open to supporting that movement. NetLabels and collectives are great ways for artists to get heard and support each other. Maybe I need to complete the Groups module for ArtistServer, which would allow artists to create a NetLabel/collective on ArtistServer.
===================
AlienAqtor - thanks for the tunes, I'm streaming now... these are trippy tracks!

I'm all for musicians promoting their work here. But I'm not for musicians that feel they don't need to interact where they advertise their art, free or not. It's the whole elitist feel of a post like this.
The difference between him and us is we respond to every comment, good or bad. Artistserver is a community that AlienAqtor is constructing billboards in.
Every time he wants to generate traffic he leaves a single post yet never responds to even positive feedback: Example
Not even a thank you, like he doesn't have time to chit chat with us non netlabel consumers
That's not the kind of musician I want to see self promoting here, but it's your forum, so I'll leave his posts alone from now on.
