...that our little darling came into our lives!
As of tomorrow Gid will be 20 weeks old! He is already over 18 pounds, is laughing all the time, and just started eating rice cereal.
I never thought I could be this happy or this tired. It really is amazing and every day I am reminded of what a miracle he truly is. He is constantly learning and growing and changing. Every day he 'discovers' something new....his ears, his toes, how to blow spit-bubbles....its great! But where is the 'baby' we brought home from the hospital? Where is the little man who slept all day, completely swaddled in his crib? I can't believe how quickly this time has passed and just how much he has grown and changed in these weeks. He has gone from being a helpless infant to a beautiful little boy in just five months! Next he'll be asking for the car keys!
So, I guess you could say that I am a proud Mommy and just wanted to share a picture of Gid with you. Sorry if I have been MIA on the forums...I've just been a tad busy lately!
Here is a picture taken about two weeks ago of Gid getting a nice bath from his Papa. Enjoy!

They indeed grow up real fast. And Gideon III is turning into a very handsome lad for sure.
My oldest son is now the same age I was when he was born (23). He's half as young as I am twice as old. And to celebrate the momentous ocassion I'm getting a tattoo today that my son designed.

Wow! Can you share that tattoo design with us? I would love to see it! I plan on getting a tattoo in honor of my son, which is actually Gideon V (Gideon III is my husband's Dad . I want to simply get the Roman numeral 5 on my right hand.
Thanks for saying he is handsome, as of course, I agree.
Please, if you can (or want) share a photo of the tattoo after you get it. I think what you are doing is really cool. Great way to mark the occasion.

Got your baby Gids pic today Lou, thanks for keeping us updated.
He's getting huge!
Maybe you guys have a sweet retirement kid here, like a multi million dollar football player or something

Here 'tis... freshly minted... on my right forearm. My arm was still pretty raw at this point, but it looks awesome. The redness is gone now and I've cleaned it up.

It's an abstract version of a Celtic Knot. It weaves in and out of itself to represent the boys as being in an endless bond of brotherhood. The star is me and represents the origin of the boys as a bloodline. The initials are one for each boy, clockwise in order of birth... M to L. Took about two hours. I've never sat that still for that long ever. My arm was cramped up afterwards.

I have no idea why I wrote Gideon III....

Your idea sounds great. I like it.

Another fella was getting a tat same time as moi and he was getting his newborns feet inked on his upper arm. You know... a copy of the footprints the hospital takes when the babes are born..? It was lookin' very nice and a really cool tribute to his daughter.

I'm really, really happy with the way it turned out.

Sweet! I love it! What a wonderful memento you now have....such a lovely thought so beautifully illustrated! Honestly, I can't wait to get mine! It took me awhile to decide exactly what I wanted and where I wanted it. Now I just have to actually get it done.
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing!
