Three sixty second pieces for the 60x60 project.
Gouttes - which means drops in French is wet and weird.
Gouttes
Syrinx - is like a slow almost old school Autechre song.
Syrinx
Kali Yuga (which means end times in Sanskrit) is 19 ET tuned symphonic mayhem.
Kali Yuga
Enjoy!

I like the concept of 60 seconds of music but was the main idea behind this?
The tunes are certainly interesting, both sonically and compositionally but one would except no less from AS very own Maestro.
Syrinx was the piece i most enjoyed but i suppose in this bunch it is the most "traditional" but i liked the atmosphere and static rythm that everythng revolves around.
I'm curious as to use of sound source and am guessing it was the FSR1 or possibly a Nord Modular?
After 3 listens of each track my least favourite of the three, "Kali Yuga", eventually grew on me.

Yeah Brillman, you guessed it. It's my FS1R with an original formant sequence. It was a formant analysis that went awry and I started jamming with it. Both that and Gouttes were basically improvisations I set up using KeyKit, the MIDI programming system to constantly modulate controllers 16-24 until I found a cool sweet spot and then I just played my keyboard into a recorder until I got something cool. The sounds of the FS1R when modulated get soooo radically different it's really amazing!
The 60x60 project is Robert Voisey's ongoing world-wide concert series. Check it out...

Cheers for the info Jeff
I have been looking for an FSR-1 but they don“t sell very often. According to all the stuff i read up on it you can program your own Formant sequences but there's no way of saving them when you turn the machine off? My Micro modular can combine formants with FM but i'm not sure if would sound similiar to what you have on your tracks?
I may try and put something together myself, less is more eh?

Brillman, you can save 6 FSEQ's. The thing is, the system is a little buggy and only one ever seems to stick in memory. Check out my song Ardhaa Jangala too for more about just how bizarre the sounds can shift. Yeah try out the 60x60 project. Remember though, these are art music guys and they have their own way of judging people's stuff. A bit stuffy actually...

hey, the last two work really well as background music to chris jordan's "intolerable beauty: portraits of mass consumption". http://www.chrisjordan.com/
