Made using only these three things:

------------------------------------------------------------

I randomly changed stations on the FM/AM Walkman while sporadically running the Sawzsall near it.

The Sawzsalls electromagnetic interference caused the squelchy sounds.

Some live fx were used during this session.

^^That is.. interesting o_O

Playing with several drumloops, randomly switching between output channels with different effects chains..

Cool.

This thread is for whatever kind of crap you can throw together.

The only rule is it has to be a live, improvised recording.

Testing my new gear: Moog MP-201 and MF-101.

The Yamaha RM1X is being filtered by the MF-101 while the MP-201 is being USB driven by Sony ACID Pro.

this was recorded recently - it's a bit on the funky side, includes a somewhat straight forward beat with a heavily effected electric bass, and a slashy jabby rhythmic guitar part done on top. I did do a crusty guitar lead that has some good moments, but I found this more interesting with less going on in the track. Recorded into ACID 4.

it's a 256kbps mp3 at 6:53 - it modulates a bit between D and C - so it's just called d2c

Was this a live session? Funky indeed.

Greetings Subtronik, yes, the bass and guitar are live just done separately - I set up a beat pattern - copy/pasted it so there was around 10min of drums, then set the bass sound up, played and recorded that, then did the guitar right after.

I'd love to play in a band that did stuff like this. I've been going down to the beach lately and jamming with some guys - all very loose, but fun - everyone rotates on instruments, and no egos. It's been reminding me how awesome it is to jam out with others - hitting magic moments where the music is forming and driving the creativity in the room.

Thank you for the listen - I hope the funk got your head bobbin Smile

I'm interested in getting into live web jams. I know you can even use MIDI for wan.

Know anything about it? Is it too disjointed?

Yep! Keep expecting David Byrne to start singing Smile Razz

Funky and very Talking Heads-ish. Nice filter on that bass is it? Love the sound, sounds like a moog filter or something? music...

Nice bit o' west coast funk. Sunny and warm. Good for cold wet days like it is here.

The crew I get together with tend to stick to white boy blues as far as style goes, but this would be fun to do.

Cool, right on.

cheers

This setup would make for a nice intro to a longer performance set.

Cool, right on.

I'm going to record an HD video session with my Korg MS2000BR run through these Moog boxes as soon as I'm done with a Kurzweil K2000 video tutorial.

The Korg MS2000 has a simple freeware randomizer that I've already experimented in this chained config and wow... it's sounds so trippy that I decided to finish my other projects first before doing a full video session.

You can hear what I came up with randomly within seconds here:

Sounds pretty nice and fat! Cool, right on. How does the randomizer work? I have the MS-2000rVery Happy

I think it's for PC only, but third one down: http://daz.korgforums.com/

Remove the #'s in the config file for more intense results. Also, if you don't like white noise in your sounds remove the noise line completely.

Thanks Subtronik! Cool, right on.

Another iOS track....

Had a couple hours to kill at work last night so I made this.

2:49 @ 128kbps
