The site design tool was recently redeveloped and given additional features... check it out, visit the Site Designer in the Settings area, under "My Site"
What is new?
- The real time sample of your site works better, and now displays your background image.
- The color picker now allows you to select 'any' color - you click on the color ring to select a color, then you click on the square to set the contrast of your color.
- The site skin selector now displays a small screenshot of the site with the selected skin, so you can see what it looks like.
How do you use it? Here are the directions:
- Select a Site Skin - from the drop down menu, select a Site Skin to serve as the main design for your site profile.
- Select the Source of Colors - you can use the colors from the Site Skin, or you can set your own colors
- Set your custom colors - if you selected to use custom colors, click on the name (like 'Link Color') of the page part, or click on the colored box next to the name, this 'selects' the color. Next, click on the circle of the color picker to select a color, then click on the square of the color picker to select the contrast. As you make changes, the preview window (below left) will update.
- Background images can be set for the page. All images must be uploaded using the Files tool (located under the 'My Stuff' menu on the left) before you can use them in your design.
The next update for the site designer, will be an option to set how your background image displays. Right now, there is only one option, tiled.
