I think youtube is your answer. It just sucks up people of all kinds like a vaccum and imprisons them with great new previews after each segment of diet coke & mentos bombs.

I'm old, I guess. How do I know? When I see those kids with the pants around their ankles, I cringe. Has that fad ended yet? I hope so. See what I mean. Old.

Don't feel bad man- I also think "damn" about the pants around the thighs. It's more of a issue of belonging to a certain society of youth really-- but wow, look at who started it.
Doesn't take much to start a fad either.
I look forward to becoming old- I always have because I would like to portray a wise old man. A wise young man is always considered cocky and nieve. Sounds funny, but I think that anyone who reaches the age of 60 automatically becomes a utilitarion to society by improving their environment with knowledge and experience; because 90% of seniors have different values. (hugh hephner) is the other 10%...
Nevermind. I know I'm babbling- but I think getting older is always a blessing. It's like that time in your life that you finally come to your harmony and accept where you are and start actually living a different set of values...
And I think I'll figure out the rest as I myself get older and look back at this message I wrote when I turn 60 and think "you moron".

I usually only contract out 1/4 of my time, but for the last few months, one of my clients has had 1/2 of my work schedule and the other half was recently contracted away to a new client, so things have been hairy. I've had do cut back on my Web socializing and music. I'm about to head out on vacation, so after that I should be able to catch a new rhythm and balance my schedule better.
We'll post some photos while on vacation and stop by the forums.
BTW - today is my 5yr wedding anniversary.

And... it was 5yrs ago tonight that Captain Ahab rocked out in a cabin up in the mountains for our wedding reception.

Fourier - For some reason, when you first started hanging out here, I thought you were just getting out of college. Did you go back to school years ago, or am I confusing your past with someone else?
Are you making any tunes?

Lou and I are now on vacation in Kauai right now - I have DJ Food playing on the mp3 player, the waves are breaking just a 100 ft away, we have a high speed Internet connect, coffee just brewed and Lou just fixed up some fruit and peanut butter on toast... ahhh!
We'll post photos later.

Fourier!!!
I'm here.
The forums are still set as my homepage even though I barely read any threads... and yes, traffic has seemed to slow down quite a bit.
Whew, I tried replying to this thread yesterday but couldn't. Turns out it's been a while since I posted and I had to delete my cookies before it would let me sign in.
Anyways, I might as well take this opportunity to say I'm still working on the remix of your song "Newfoundland (Trance Mix)" and I have a lot more time to work on it then I used to. I've put a lot of effort into this track and it seems that it's paying off. I'm excited about how good this track sounds (I could easily imagine hearing it on www.di.fm -Digitally Imported-)
There are more details to work on in the track, changing the clap, trying some snare rolls, etc., so it still might be a while before I will call it done, but hopefully it won't take too much longer. What file sharing program do you use? I'll let you hear what I have already.

What's my excuse? I'm old, dammit, and have all of the dyed, hidden grey hair to prove it! Our vacation was great, but we came back to a mess of responsibility and work, work, work! I was without a computer for awhile, and now I'm back in action. It's my job to get the vacation pics up...maybe by this weekend? We'll see. Too much 'medical' stuff going on around here, too. Is that also a symptom of getting 'old'? I think so...

Fourier-
Hmm, well, I've been thinking about changing some things again, but I'd love for you to hear what I have so far.
The reason I didn't want to upload it here is because I hadn't considered it finished... but that reminds me... isn't there a way you can make a song private and then send a link to the song to someone? Seems I remember something about that... I'd check it out, but artistserver doesn't want to work for me right now.
Edit: I sent you a message with the link to the song, let me know what you think!
Wintermute -
Did you ever get to remixing Fourier's song? I know you were thinking about it a long time ago.
Everyone -
Sorry, not trying to turn this into a remixing thread I promise! lol

Why yes I did, uploaded it today--one of the remixes. As a matter of fact the "extras" I added to make the original remix (new counter melodies, arpeggios, chords, etc.) wound up being my song "Iceland" (yes I added so much stuff to the remix, that the added items stood on there own as a song) I named it "Iceland" for two reasons; Geographically Iceland is pretty much opposite to Newfoundland, Second the two note deep arpeggio that runs all the way through "Iceland" reminded me of the Hot springs and other thermodymanic "features" that bubble under Iceland whereas the "highs" of the chords and piano lines reminded me of the Ice and winds that blow over the island nature. I was really touched to find out a fan of Wintermute at tagworld.com who spent most of his life in Iceland and is now living abroad (in Norway) said "Iceland" made him very homesick everytime he heard it--Initially I had asked him when I found out he grew up in Iceland, if he felt the song reflected his homeland. Today, I broke out Fourier's remix pack and tackled the last seqeunce I had not figured out from his original Wavs (I believe it is the one called "vocal_arp") It was the last one I had not figured out by ear--In the original remix I painstakenly, but happily figured out his melody seqeunce by ear which allowed me to create variations on the original melody as well as let me change the BPM from the original compositon. Onces I figured out this last seqence--probably one of my favorite from the remix pack--I created about 6 to 8 new lines that "played" with that seqences--flipping the notes, rearranging them etc. Then I started composing a new remix, I think it is the singlel longest song I have ever worked on--over 15 mins long. Basically the song "Bridges" his "Newfoundland" to my "Iceland" through a series of progressions. I mainly did this to show off FL Studio's newer feature as well as their new soft synth "Morphine". The track features Image Lines (the makers of FL Studio aka "Fruity Loops") synths: PoiZone, Stylus, Morphine, Dream Machine, FX wise the track features IL's "Love Filter" and "Delay Bank" The gate I used is mgTriggerGate, other soft synths include, Iblit and Triangle II
Enjoy ;)

Nice, I did enjoy
Well, instead of just sending the file to Fourier, I decided to make it public without the ability to download. I guess that makes the most sense. So, here you go, here's my remix:
Fourier Wave Device - Newfoundland [Tecknixia Trance Remix] (not final version)
As far as the old thing... I'll be 28 in 10 days and the people I work with keep calling me old. Yeah, so my hair is thinning out and my scalp is starting to show more, it sucks, but oh well I guess it happens.
