sorry for my lack of participation lately

Hi all - I just wanted to send out a not to apologize for my lack of participation lately. This has been quite a difficult year in terms of work. I'm a contract programmer, and up until last month, I was pulling in less than 1/2 the cash flow that we need to get by.
Fortunately, a long time client of mine increased my hours and workload - so we're starting to move beyond 'survival mode'  Unfortunately, the workload has been huge, and I'm still having to find at least one contract each month to get by.
Plan9 - I'm soooo sorry I haven't been able to get back to you on our collaboration - I have listened - I do like the sounds you are getting there - we'll just need to talk about it to see how we should fit it all together. I will msg you soon and ask for your phone # and a good time to call.
We're still growing - all plans for the site are still in motion... just slowed down a bit as I get caught up.

BTW - if you tried to hit the site yesterday - and it never responded, it was because we were under attack. Some guy wrote a spider/scraper that was attempting to pull down every song with a Creative Commons license from ArtistServer. His code was executing a request per second - causing all the server's resources to get used up and causing the server to not respond. I found his ISP - called them - they were extremely cool, and followed up with their user.
They wouldn't tell me who it was - but with some basic research, I had his name, phone number, address, company name, IP address, and Website URL in about 10 minutes. I locked out his IP, setup a log to track his behavior - and sent that to his ISP as proof of his attack. I then called the guy - left a heated voicemail, and received an apology email 10 minutes later. The attack continued, but finally ended in another 10 minutes. Thanks for the stress!

I don't understand- you called him, he 'apologized' - and then he attacked again? weird.

no, sorry that wasn't clear - he had to get a hold of the programmer or had to find the server it was running on. His first email stated it was going to take hours, fortunately it was only 10 minutes.
