Hi all, still working on the Classics (?) vol.2 EP...which in fact means I listen to a lot of old stuff and try to make something of existing (unreleased) tunes which sounds logical in the form of an EP.... Still have to find one track and after that I'll probably do some remastering. Before that expect a new track soon.....
Greetings, Roland

Love the quality and the granular background; how it rolls with the rythm. The fills are original- kind of strange fills every now and then, but they work!
I was jamming out to this pretty good this morning.

The only thing I don't like here is the main bassline, it's a little too poppy for my tastes.
Other than that, your sound quality is really sounding pro these days. What compressor are you using to get this loud tight punchy snap to your mix?
The beats are cool, nice flavor overall. The Asian sample works good here.

Hi guys, thanks for your FB!
Sub, I used Logic Pro 7 for the complete mastering, yep, purely software-based. There are some excellent masteringtools within that app. What I also like are the channelstrip-presets which are sometimes very usefull for certain types of music, although most of the times you have to experiment a lot with the settings to get exactly what you want.

Speaking of mastering....at this moment I'm busy listening to my first Mastertapes and converting them to WAVs...(bought an USB-cass. deck today!) With mastertapes I mean cassettes...it's hardly unbelievable nowadays I started out as an electronic musician mastering on cassette...and yes, they sound horrible! On the other hand, it has been many years ago I listened to them and it's really fun to hear them again. The oldest track was mastered on sept. 18th. 1989! Maybe I'll upload something in the future, just for fun.....

Hi all, finally found the last track to finish the Classics (?) vol.2 - EP; I'll do a bit (or a lot) of remastering and after that I'll return.....

I was 4 years old and playing with my spaceships. The sound fx were out of this world.

I even have older recordings; don't know what the year was, but (for example) I did an electronic workshop with a few others back then... There were about 8 people joining; they were split into 2 different groups and the 2 compositions were entirely made of recordings made in the 'field', mostly sounds of trains...

Since I have been listening to Dirty Rat some more- I realize that I've missed a lot of the creativity in this.
The stick dropping sound is excellently placed!! the background percussion is a treat when you pay close attention... I listened to this when I ran to work yesterday and I clocked my fastest time yet!!
Plus I've been maintaining a better diet lately...
One more time- great work on this Roland!

Thanx Kylo, glad you like it.....
I've made a total of 3 versions of You Dirty Rat: I've listened to the other ones and I certainly liked the last one. Not sure about the 2nd., but I might upload the 3rd. soon.....(It's a Cuban version!!!!)

Well, 3 of the 4 tracks have been remastered...but I'm having a hard time with the 4th. Sometimes the low end is 'pumping' which in some cases is OK, but with this particular track it's annoying....

Update...
Finally decided to stop working on mastering the last track, somehow I didn't manage to let it sound the way I wanted it. But don't despair: picked another one from the archive and all 4 tracks now have been remastered and will be uploaded soon.....
