GarageBand.com, the well-known indie music store, discovery & review service and online community, will be discontinued as of July 15th, 2010, more than 10 years after it first saw the light of day.
In an email sent to users this morning, the company that spawned social music discovery service iLike (now part of MySpace), the GarageBand team says users can register for an iLike account to have their music, profile pic and bio automatically linked up and ported over.

I knew there had to be a reason I was harvesting everything by everyone
in electronic music there, and I am glad I have been. I am going to be sure
to mention to everyone to sign in here.
You missed some sites that the big labels have wiped out in their ongoing
anti-competitive war in independent artists. I guess we should have seen
this one coming.
GarageBand.com is where most of the original mp3com community was buried
and is a vast community which has been cut off from it's self at that site, so it
is not able to keep it's self together, and so the artists continue to be herded
from one site after another owned or fornicated by their competition, to bury
them. It's sad to watch so many being herded by the competition, like that.

Music17 - based on the city you listed on your profile, and the FAQ on the site you listed, it appears that the site you are promoting is your own business. If that is the case, you should introduce yourself when promoting your business. Based on the info on your site, you are in Beta still. Any ideas on how to clue in the rest of the musicians online that ArtistServer is a great place to share your music and promote yourself as an artist/band? We really need to get a boost in account upgrades this year to make ends meet.
