There are just over 600 "new releases" in the electronica genre at ArtistServer.com, dating back to 2001. For this station's tenth anniversary special, I reviewed all of the "electronica" tracks, and gathered together all the best electronica at ArtistServer.com spanning the 21st century, all blended into one great mix of the top 230 tracks.
Come and check it out, and help lift your url's up in the shoutcast.com station charts!
Being just another artist, who built this radio station to serve the independent music communities, I am really interested in what other artists might like to do with the air time, where the station strongly supports artist produced mixes and specials and community collaboration presentations. I thought I might start this thread if anyone is interested in discussing things the community can do with all the airtime together. In the past, I have presented artist produced serial radio shows by Anji Bee, and by Chris Gardner, as well as artist spotlights and mixes, including controversial specials and cutting edge material exploring the limits of radio presentation without limit.
Let me know if anyone has any ideas they would like to see happen on the air here, for I love to see artists making maximum use of the station and collaborating on presentations, which can be assembled at ArtistServer.com in advance, especially where a group of artists are all producing about a single subject that may be some popular topic or current affairs or controversy.
Cheers! Gordon.

wow - that's a lot of tunes to go over and review! Did you write reviews for all those songs?!
I'll tune in today as I work Thank you for taking the time to select music from the site and organize such a great station.

I just wanted to pull out this section of your post and point it out to people.
SA Fred may be interested, he recently started his own podcast, and maybe you can play back what he's produced.
I have some great mixes of music from this site, although they are many years old and some of the artists are not here any longer. One of them is a 6hr ambient mix - at 64kbps
Have a good one - TTYL,
Gideon

I have not written reviews for the songs, but I probably should, as well for the previous harvest's here. Once I have the play list refined, I would mirror it here as a stream on request station, like the previous programs, and I can add in reviews for the featured tracks. Yeah, it was quite a journey through the best electronica of the 21st century at ArtistServer.com... Listening casually to hear the complete songs the review took about five days or so. The refined play list of just over 200 of the best electronica tracks is a really excellent ride.

Thanks Gideon, that's like a paycheck, to me. It only takes a handful of listeners to lift the station up in the charts, and when featured artists listen in, even more new people see the station, and experience their work, and head over to the artist sites. When the station really get's rocking, and it's standing room only, that's when it get's most exciting around here.

I am totally into playing artist podcasts on the air verbatim, especially in serial installments.

Mirroring site station playlists is perhaps the easiest way for an artist to produce a mix to play on this live stream station. If you have mixes that you would like to see getting some more audience, just point them out. A good way to do artist mixes is to include a short artist spotlight at the beginning, then heading into the artist credited mix, while some prefer to blend their own in with their choices of fellow artist's music evenly.
One of the nice things about this station is that there is enough free airtime to include everyone who is working hard and producing music which is easily listenable, and I make wide allowance for new, and upcoming stars, where their hard work is evident, and they take their presentation seriously as artists, then I like to get them in the mixes so we can follow the development of their art over many years. The most famous artists are those who just stick with it over years, and continue producing new marvels which are a delight to all who have already heard work by the artist.
Thanks for listening, and commenting, Gideon. When we all work together as a community we are able to lift one another up above the competition before the public, giving them a real run for their money when things really start clicking, and when the artists themselves are producing the programs together, phenomenal shows can result, especially when everyone produces a modular song for some pre-arranged theme, so that all the songs blend together seamlessly into one great song of songs about any given subject which each artist injects their thoughts and grooves upon, amazing things can happen, and the whole community can start lighting up and standing out!
