First impression (after listening once to both versions): although both versions aren't totally different genres, I would choose version 2. To me it sounds more like a complete track already.....
i like #2 - it just seems to need something else to it - possibly a better snare and more snare work earlier on in the track. It sounded like the snare came in fairly late in the track. Not sure on the genre - electronica is safe since this is a blend of genres.
I find 2 more funky and slick. I'll second (or third?) what's been said about the snare work, though if this is to be a fairly long track, the late snare might actually be a good thing.
I also wanted to hear some kind of gliding synth melody (think c64 chiptunes) - not too prominent but just something to dance in the upper mid registers in places.
