My first vocal track in over 10 years

I bought a Studio Projects B1 vocal mic a couple of weeks ago to get started on some vocal work again. It's a very nice mic, and only cost about £60. This track started out in Jan this year as an instrumental/big beat track. I removed a few of the lead parts and added some vocals. The track sounds a little messy/busy but I’m fairly happy with it. I need to buy a pop shield though as the sibilance is quite bad in the verse. The lyrics for the track ended up a little less positive than I had originally intended
I found the demo for Melodyne a great help. I used it for some female backing and to fix the tuning on my crap voice
All feedback welcome.

I think I inadvertently pinched a line from The Lord of the Rings

Professional quality!!! I'm very impressed- you're lazy singing reminds me of Beck a lot. Very well done! At 3:40- I notice the high-hat rythm sort of over-takes all other sounds a little bit. A little too loud in respect to your other sounds for me... Very good rythm, moving right along.
Well this is something I expect to hit high on the charts for sure.
(the beginning was the most original part of the tune.)
Great work Bliss, haven't heard from you in a while.

Reminds me of Blur actually.
Nice track - "this is not where I began" - good lyric.
Being quick because I am cooking sausages but think this is a really cool track.

Nice track. Your laid back vocals were just the right touch.
I really like to hear something even more stripped down, like the groove that comes in around 30 sec and have a Rickee Lee Jones type doing beatnik poetry. Or maybe not.

Excellent track sir! I think the sillybance is ok. I love the bassline. Maybe it is a bit busy - it has a slight "over-fiddled-with" sound to it. Maybe pull up the vocals a couple of dB? Bah what do I know.
Hey have you heard from raw42 lately? I thought they said they'd continue to send us download stats and even a check from time to time

Very cool intro, and very lovely beats/pads etc. I tried using the melodyne demo, but it didn't work, the key that I kept getting didn't work, oh well, sounds nice. This reminds me a lot of the mid to late nineties chill out tracks that you would find on those Cafe Del Mar compilations. The production is great. Congrats, I'm glad more people use their voice in tracks. -Erik

Ludo has some point. It also reminds me of the way David Sylvian sings but not the voice itself.
I always like Planet Bliss' music but this one is the first that did't make it for me. I acknowledge that it has good qualities and a really good production. But I didn't get the other progressive mood I get from the other tracks he makes.
But of course, I give it a for the quality it is accomplished with.
