Following Artist Function:
I was just going through a search listing of all artists at the site, one at a time, to click the follow link of every artist that this radio station is following, and I noticed a couple of things.
First, not all artists are appearing in the search results of all artists.
Second, after clicking follow, it does not appear in the artist's followers list that I clicked their follow link.
I am wondering if I have stumbled upon an issue, or if it just takes time for that data to update, or something.
Just wondering.

are you talking about the 'people' section? the default sort is by most recently signed in I believe - change that to 'newest to oldest' - and everyone will appear.

do you mean 'instantly' or do you mean after you refresh the page? It should refresh after page load - unless i'm caching the query to speed things up - in that case, it would refresh about 15min after you last load the page.

Yeah. That's what I did. But it's hard for me to verify that where looking at the names of thousands of artists, I just did not miss a bunch, for that is possible too.

No, what I mean, for example, is that I clicked the "follow link" on GoldLust's homepage, and then when I click on "Followers" for GoldLust, Synerdata does not appear in the lists of any of the artists I click to show I am following.
The artists I clicked to follow are listed here: http://www.artistserver.com/artist/follow.cfm/a/2886/synerdata
But Synerdata does not show up in any of the artist's list of followers pages, eg: http://www.artistserver.com/artist/follow.cfm/a/801/GoldLust
Does it take time for synerdata to appear on the followers page of artists the station follows, or is this an issue?
Just wondering. : )

Awesome!
The Followers/Following links are really important for artist networking and referral. Normally I do not write to artists to let them know when they are featured, and so the following link is my way of letting the other artists know they are on the air.
Now, if all 150 artists I am playing (so far) here were all to come and listen to this station around the same time, the entire community would be lifted with the station to the tops of the charts and high traffic and visibility at shoutcast.com, which is how mp3com initially lifted the station up to number one in electronica there in the first half of this past decade, resulting in many "DAM" CD's being sold, and some artists being signed.
Looking good!
Gordon.
