MUAHAHA!!! If the world were flat- I'd spy on you all!!! I'm excessively proud of this shot! I figured out how to use my LPI imager last night. When I saw the moon that close I almost puked because it was so close!! I'm going to try to get saturn tonight later on- charging up my car batteries... Laughing No- no sir I do not own a lap-top, this is pure nerdiness at its best as I take my desktop PC with the fat moniter outside in the freezing ass cold to aqcuire these images!

I feel 'Galilei gay' with my new hobby here, just not sure about the moisture that covers my scope lens after an hour or so... might get into my PC. Woah WTF!?

Enjoy the photos friends.

Beautiful.

I'm so proud of you!!!!!! Please keep them coming. I haven't seen anything this cool since my last 'star party' many, many years ago. Yeah Kylo!!!!
Any chance you can capture the kick-ass meteor shower we are supposed to experience this Thursday/Friday?

I will make sure I do, unless these damned clouds ever
GO AWAY!!!!

I've been looking outside every night for two weeks now... That's kind of why I hate Oregon's weather, always raining raining raining during these months. I realize it's December and almost everyone in the northern hemisphere gets rain too (lucky people get thick frozen snow ay steve?) Smile

But come on... Come on... I just figured out how to use the auto-tracking 'freelance' mode on the scope, so I'll be able to look where I wish in the beginning. In order for me to look at the celestial objects programmed into the hardware, I'm supposed to align the tripod & azimuth of the scope stand with the north star. heh, that's not too hard unless you have your tripod plum against the ground and the barrel of the scope turned the right direction on the stand... etc.

I'll try. I'm pretty motivated anyway. Cool

Great shot. it must be a trip to see it through the lens like that. if the clouds cooperate are you going to try for the sunrise planet trio? still got a day or two on that one I think.

I'm gonna hope for that Except I'm not too sure that the LPI will get an image like so since it will be too flooded with light. It is more of a night-time tool, I'm sure I would have trouble trying to filter that light in the time I'd have during the rise.

Snow.... Anger - grrrrrr!

Actually it's not that bad right now. What snow we had is pretty much gone with the mild weather we're having right now. It's like 3 degrees and raining this morning. Rolling Eyes

Might be 7 degrees by Saturday.

Hope the weather clears so you can get some more space shots.

cheers

you'll just have to cruise back down to San Diego for another visit Smile - we do have a mountain range just 1hr inland from here where the light pollution is low.

Very Happy

I look forward to seeing more of your telescope photos.
