Nice track Danny. I liked the beat, very Zero 7-ish. The voice was kind of out of left field, sounded like George Michael almost. Kind of a cool thing to inject, it didn't really make or break the song for me, almost seemed a little out of place, but thats just my opinion, but i liked the strings that accompanied the voice a lot. nice job -Erik

It sets a mood.. I do like the atmosphere.. I'm not really the right audience for this kinda track though, because of my ADD .. But I certainly got some enjoyment and vibes from it.
As for constructive crit - some of the transitions seemed a bit arbitrary. One thing ends, another picks up... The atmosphere takes precidence over musicality, but it didn't detract a whole lot and was probably intentional.
Is this a comeback track? Have you had the Block recently? If so, forget the criticism. I know what an achievement it is just to beat it and move forwards

Thanks guys,
I'm not sure if I had block or not but I was in Amsterdam for a year and barely did a thing. Not sure why but since I've moved back to London I've done a lot more. This is the first thing I've wanted to "put out there"....
The idea is you are walking along a city street and sounds come in and out supposedly randomly as you walk along...that was the initial idea anyway?!?!
Thanks for taking a listen.

i liked the track - it definately sounded like Danny K - but I wasn't into the vocal sample - it didn't seem to fit or sound right in the mix.

Hello Gideon,
Thanks for listening - actually I haven't had the chance to mix it on anything other than headphones since my amp is still in Holland. I'll have to check the vocal level when I get a chance to mix it - don't know whether to keep the vocal and add more so it sounds a little more integrated - or drop it all together. its a dramatic moment though...
I think the idea is he is like a busker and all the sounds of the city come together at this one explosion. Ho hum - I will have a think about it when I get the chance to put it through some proper monitors. I want to check that bass level too.
Anyway - about that vocal - I would have thought some 80's kid would get it - the clue is in the title - its from Victims by Culture Club - though the vocal isn't Boy George...it was a trick question....its his replacement in the newly reformed band - Sam Butcher who I was doing an engineering session with last week - hence I had some of his vocal snips kicking around on the hard drive. Dangerous place to be on my hard drive....you end up in tunes!

Listening to October 77 now...
Cool groove to start it off, and I'm a sucker for sine melodies Nice epiano backing.... This song has a nice "city" ambience. It's pretty chaotic, yet, the strings sound serene. Kinda a weird combination with the vocals (which I like) the groove and the strings. I liked the little string melody that you used prior to the Vocals, but when all the elements collide, however climactic it is, the loud string chords don't seem to line up with the sine melody nor the groove. Perhaps I'm thinking too melodic. Either way a cool song, I appreciate the groove and the ambience.

yeah indeed.
My favorite bit is the bit right after the climactic bit where smoochy string come in all a bit randomly.
Its funny - my gf thinks this is one the of the best i've done. I just think its nice to get back into it all after effectively a year away.
