I (or someone equally caring) always make sure to have a box o' free plugs available at the door for any/all shows I participate in. And I always bring a pair with me when I go to shows I'm not participating in. They're cheap to buy (in bulk) and consider it a courtesy I (and others) like to extend to listeners as they enter. The option is theirs to take 'em or ignore 'em at their own peril.
