If you get a dog, get a rescue.

A little bit of a weird writer, but yeah the point does come across slowly but surely. People that make the decision to ditch their dogs after years of having them need to be put into a meat grinder.
... and made into puppy treats.

I wish this was just over-dramatic crap, but sadly, it's common. I have met too many people who have done this to thier 'pets'. I have had women come up to me when they see me with our dogs and say "That's all fine until the babies come...then don't be surprised when you find yourself keeping the dogs in the garage." WTF?! I also just had a lady ask me if I knew a good home for a well trained two year old chihuahua. Why? Because she is getting a divorce and "simply doesn't have time" to care for the dog.
When I lived in the mountains above San Diego I rescued a dog that had been abandoned on a busy country road. I guess the belief was that someone would rescue him. It was obvious he had been abused, but that wasn't what broke my heart. The worst part was the fact that he WAITED there, never moving, watching each car that passed for days! I would pull over and try to lure him in my car...it took two weeks. He was skelatal before the hot dogs the local Ranger and I were offering him finally did the trick. I thought "What kind of a bastard would throw away a another being...especially a being this damn loyal?!" I named him Worf, he protected me royaly and lovingly until I was able to find him an awesome home in the country with a house full of kids. I still think fondly of that dog and I have yet to stop hating the unknown asshole who dumped him there.
So yes, Subtronik, you know I agree with you when I say "Yeah...rescue your next friend...don't buy it."
