“We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have." - Frederick Keonig

While I love Sci Fi - the idea of aliens, and exploring space - I don't think it is likely that there are any other forms of 'advanced' life in the Milky Way galaxy, or possibly even in the current concept of 'Universe' - which is traditionally considered an a singular entity.

With that said... I do believe we will come to know something that probably does have of other forms of advanced life, and that this existence is not here, but within other structures like our universe which exist in an even greater structure you could call a Multiverse. I'm leaning on the theories of 'branes' here - which are better explained at Wikipedia - here is a link to Multiverse, which has a collection of very interesting theories:

and more specifically - M-Theory:

Ive heard a little about that theory.. it is said that the different realities exist at once, like how on the radio there is 500 stations playing at once. it is all a matter of what frequency youre tuned into..

I like that concept.

This reminds me of the 2012 concept when we all cross into the 11th dimension. hmmm... huh?

can you provide a link which covers that theory? I'm fairly well versed in most 2012 theories, and crossing the 11th dimension isn't one I know.

M-Theory, and String Theory in general suggests that there are 10 dimensions - it's beyond my ability to explain why it's 10 - but my understanding, is that with 10 dimensions, the math 'works' - any more or less dimensions, and the math they use can't describe what we've already discovered.

I own the domain: 12-21-2012.com - and as some point will have a site online to show the various theories and have a means for people to vote for the outcome they think will happen. "Yes, come on down... cast your vote... will it be the end, or the beginning?"

Here's a quick listing of the core 2012 theories:

Possible Events
=============
- enlightenment
---- enlightenment brought by other beings
---- enlightenment brought on by the solar system passing though an energy/magnetic field
- Apocalypse (good vs evil)
- end of world
---- end of world caused by pole shift
---- end of world caused by 'NIBIRU' generating a polar shift
- Galactic Alignment and nothing more
- Singularity

Prophecy Sources
==================
* Mayan long count Calendar
* the medieval predictions of Merlin (pole shift)
* Book of Revelation
* Sybil Prophecy
* Chinese oracle of I Ching
* Terrence McKenna/Timewave Zero (I Ching derived)
* Sioux - Black Elk
* Hopi - world already created/destroyed 4 times, transitioning to 5th world

Ideally, I'd like to return to Chichen Itza on 12-21-2012 - but it's going to be difficult, as there will probably several hundred thousands of people attempting to go there on that date. At the very least, it would be a chance to see the serpent shadow descend down the pyramid. oh yeah!

i had heard some people theorize that the mayan calenders' prediction might be so old that it is irrelevant now. As if their end had already come..

btw did you know that 2012 is the end of the next presidents' term in office?

we're going to get baracked i fear, oh no Shocked

yeah - i better get the site up - there's more 2012 sites going up every few months it seems. I hope to have something different though. I want to capture people's opinion about the theories, and what they think will happen, and plot their choices in charts and on a map. I'd like to see if certain theories are regional and if there are patterns to be found. For example, is there a greater population of people who believe in a negative or positive outcome, and how are these groupings distributed across the globe. The sooner I start, the more data I'll have over time, allowing me to also track if there's a growing trend in any theory, or if there is a trend towards negative outcomes or positive outcomes.

Humanity has always been talking about the end, that doomsday is coming, but in this case, we have many different theories from many cultures and time periods, all focusing on a single date - which makes this a unique event. This is a great opportunity to document our struggles with the unknown and our attempt to define and understand it. The 2012 date is symbolic to the human adventure, representing our uncertain future. It may not be for most people, but as we get closer, a significant number of the people will form an opinion about 2012... what will it be? Smile
