The Proms in the UK from the royal Albert Hall has always been a bit of a classical highbrow affair .. apart from the last night when all the young riche tank up on champagne and pretend they're a football crowd .. not this year. I caught "The Spaghetti Western Orchestra". A ten piece Australian outfit playing everything from a box of cereal to an electric coffee tin one string guitar. Their whole act is taken from the works of Ennio Morricone's scores of Leone's films. Not only did they capture the sound perfectly but also the comic over-top-drama of all the films. I can thoroughly recommend them ...can't seem to post a link but google them .. summin' else ! Also cvaught the comedy night .. hosted by musical comic genius tim mitchins..he played "light my fire" on the albert halls organ ...blasphemy !
