how odd... that "Love" image on the page you linked to is actually from the Las Vegas "Love" show - and I JUST edited a version of that image for a client of mine who books Las Vegas shows.
interesting mixes - I like how Because is a'capella - I'm sure people will rip it and use it in remixes.
any word on Paul and Ringo liking the release?

I heard a few short snipets of this album on the TV the other day. I will have to have a listen when broadband is up and running. Can't wait to hear what they have done with Mr Kite.

From what I've been reading in the papers lately both dig it and give it their approval.
It's on my "wish list" for Xmas.

I've heard that Love is optimized for 5.1 surround, and that listening to it in stereo is like listening to Sgt. Pepper in mono . . . anyhoo, here's the unedited note to my friend jim, who sent me the link:
db:
Well, Thank YOU, Giles Martin! Get Back RAWX!! I've heard a-capella 'Because' before and I love it each time. The beginning of Get Back was a revelation! Still streamin' . . . I'd love a shot at these master tapes. I'd have done a better Glass Onion lol Loved Walrus starting with Julia, wondered about where the kids voices were from. That segue seemed rushed . . . Drive My Car is wonderful! Taxman solo blended in perfectly. Oh yeah, definitely my fave so far is Drive My Car - Nowhere Man/ Something/Blue Jay Way is great but then quite a rough cut to Mr. Kite, as if Giles got bored or ran out of time? But Mr. Kite is splendid, so splendid. I guess Giles was impatient to get to this one, man! You hear that solo like never before. LOVE Mr. Kite. Oh dude, SHE'S SO HEAVY - Damn, now I'm leaking, brutzing . . . laughter from Within You Without You, now HELTER SKELTER, dude, this is just wonderful. Strawberry Fields sounds liked a mash up of those SFF tracks from THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY. Remember all those basic tracks and how they evolved from just a little scratch guitar track? heh sgt pepper now the harpsichord from whatsis now penny lane now piggies, now the horn from good morning good morning now hello goodbye aw man piggies again worthy worthy worthy indeed. Kudos to Giles. I'd love a crack at these master tracks. They are so precise. So clear. Tomorrow never knows . . . always one of my faves. ACK! wITHIN U WITHOUT U heh . . . beeeeeeyoooootiful - Even if he wasn't manipulating the master trax in different ways I'd be blown away by just the fidelity of these individual sounds. You can hear 'em breathe and you can hear when Ringo just smacks the tom apropos to nothing . . . it's all good, but when Giles is good, he's inspired. And I don't know but it sounds pretty swell despite the 5.1 warning . . . Octopussy Garden with Good Night backing is awesome, quite transcendent. Good segue into Dont Let Me Down . . . Y'know, I'm thinking these jumps aren't part of the cd, but arbitrary on the part of, who, Clear Channel? The tracks are so smoothly integrated I can't believe those crude transitions are part of the whole. More likely part of some arbitrary file truncation . . . 3 minute chunks? I dunno, haven't been timing the tracks. I don't know if this will impact the culture, as I dont' know if any eight to fifteen year olds will think these mashups are any better than the originals . . . whadaya think? I wonder if you gave Trent Reznor or Les Claypool or Rhonda Vincent or Zappa a shot at these master tapes . . . shiite the mind boggles. Ultimately I like the intimacy of the pristine tracks and the juxtapositions -- like making love to your high school sweetie in a brand new way . . .

There are some videos on the main LOVE site, where Giles says it was extremely nervewracking to play the TNK/WIYWOY mix to Paul, Ringo, Yoko and Olivia for the first time. But that's the one that really sold them on the idea and they gave their blessing to get even more extreme.
Hopefully the kids will know this is on my xmas list.
