hehe not very friendly Smile

i think the attitude of those videos is kind of strange though.. help spread the word..

i mean.. it's very simple, the Finnish artist should just contact Geffen.. Show 'em the proof. Then see if they want to settle this in court or off court. Very HappyRazz

did i ever post about Michael Jackson's Stranger In Moscow.. he actually used some of Sonic the Hedgehog music for it. Smile (Which wasn't stealing, cause he was involved in the composing process of that video game)

Ah, the power of Youtube.....

Seems pretty "cut 'n dry" to me. Or... in this case... "cut 'n paste"....

Reminds me of the ol' George Harrison fiasco.

This really sucks, I hope this Finnish guy gets what he deserves, CASH!

There's a moral in there somewhere I'm sure. I'll leave it up to you to decide.

Yep, especially liked the part when the interviewer asks if it's true that kids making music nowadays using samples and loops are lazy...and George answers that his mother years ago also thought he was being lazy playing the same beat for 20 minutes...

Some things never change...

ABC - exactly - I was thinking the same thing.

For example, when I listen to James Brown, I'm hearing a band playing loop music. It's like James was and George, and even Miles Davis, were making electronic music, but with a band. Even the way James Brown sings, to me, he sounds like he's "self sampling" - like he's triggering his voice like a sampler.

Certainly, looping progressions is a core to music, and found in most types of music, but in general, the world of loops tends to still be: hip hop and elecronic music. Although, looped beats are all over the place these days. But... that in itself could be traced back to ledgends like George Clinton and James Brown shaping the evolution of music by influencing other artists.
