Had fun with this one....
NH17 Blues Part 3 Remix
Also - I have recently been helping my Dad with a best of 80's Library Music Comp for Universal Music (big shiny buildings). Here are the two tracks I have come up with:

Welcome To Your Life
Also in the Uk is a famous band called the Kaiser Chiefs and over a pint of beer I was challenged to do a string quartet arrangement of one of their tunes I predict a riot....its become one of the favourite things I have ever done:

Thanks - I actually made a point of not listening to Pete's track before I did my remix just as an experiment. I think its reminiscent of Groove Armada for some reason. I've had an odd relationship with this remix. Memory-wise its been a bit of a bugger and to be honest I am not entirely sure why. Its one of those ones that one day Logic wants to play it and other days it gobs out memory errors every two or three bars.

By the way I should just mention after 6 years of nagging I have finally got Lizzie (my girlfriend) to put some vox on something - she is doing the backing vox on the 2 80's tracks (in what is meant to be a Human League sort of way). As ever you need to excuse my singing - they are guides till we get a session vocalist in - but for now I like having some tracks me and Lizzie have sung on together.

Anyways, i listened to these songs in a little more depth. My synopsis is as follows:
Goodbye: You were mentioning 1985.. I was actually born in that year. So.. um.. yeah this song has a strong 80s vibe, except synths didnt seem to be that sharp back then. This seems just a bit short but if it were say the last album on the track, it would work like magic. I think..
I predict a riot: This was really good man. It got kinda confusing about halfway through but I don't exactly know what the original sounded like so..
nh17blues: That.. was interesting.
welcome: Hmm this sounds like it goes with 'goodbye' obviously. Reminds me of david bowie for some reason. Both tracks really get the message across.. and have an interesting retro vibe. Kinda reminds me of those old sitcoms from back in the day for some reason..
Altogether, yyyyeah I can see where you were comin from with your comments on my songs.. But it is always nice to hear somethin different so i'll be glad i stopped to listen to these..

Sorry not replied sooner...I keep "going dark" like Jack Bauer I've been off the grid for a while trying to sort out my bloody career again

This is pretty awesome, I don't believe i heard the original but i like the space blues, especially the delayed harmonica. From my speakers sounds nicely mixed, sweet song!

Hey dude - glad you approve. If I'm honest I have had a funny relationship with this tune. I never felt like I got the mix right. I think there is a better mix in there if you are up for the job. Great samples to play about with though - cheers.

Welcome To Your Life Another retro-sounding tune, it has a sort of demo-feel, which isn't always that bad, but here it doesn't work (for me)
NH17 Blues Part 3 Remix yes, like the remix! It has a very laidback but somehow also eerie feel....is that an effected vocal I sometimes hear?
