New-ish AbSendish Sender Song

Heh, heh, I didn't change the mp3 tag name over to Absurdist Lover. Well, it's the same deal, though this came before my big Satori that lead me to change my name because of the new directions I was trying.

This was made in early 2005:

Download: Disenchantment BY: absurdist lover

I have a friend who really likes this. My boyfriend thought it was so-so apart from the intro, but he has pretty high expectations of me and this isn't really his kind of music.

i thought the intro was too long, even though i really liked that spooky synth sound Smile
the beat manipulation is fine (as usual)

not your best, but an interesting tune. Smile the synths have a dark, real, funky quality. Twisted Evil

Ludo gets a point.

Everyone else gets a kick up the bum Evil or Very Mad

Er... Now what? hmmm... huh?

Atmospheric pads work decently, but it takes off with the melody parts around :45. Jagged synth notes mostly work perfectly, but occassionally seem to clash a little (1:16). That melody seems a bit squarepusher-esque, mostly in the fluid acid tweaks.

Drums entering. And you're still great at this stuff. Sounds like you're drawing from a pretty big sample set, or at least re-pitching / re-EQing / DSPing a lot. Enjoying the buzzing drill rolls you work in from time to time. Need to listen again to catch all the melodic development happening, but the ascending synth at around 3:40 is a highlight.

Uh, I feel like I should make a criticism here, but it sounds pretty strong (besides vague, unneccessary demands for a stronger melodic theme). I think I need to listen more. I'll be back if I develop a specific critique.

Thanks for the review Nate... I like the discord at 1:16, it was intentional (for dramatic effect) but it's always interesting to hear other people's viewpoints.

I would agree this isn't my strongest kind of work, but sharing more middle-of-the-road output is, I feel, somewhat important as opposed to showing only the absolute best as it gives a more all-round view of yourself as a composer.

OR SOMETHING oh yeah!
