What a terrible loss. What a sad day.
Ex-Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was assasinated this morning at a rally. They were just twelve days away from elections...so much hope has come to a bitter end.

I agree Lou. I'm sure she knew she'd be assassinated, yet she continued to pursue politics to help change things for the better for the people.
I just heard two days ago that she was also shot in the back of the head by someone other than the suicide bomber, which makes sense since suicide bombers are such lousy shots, thus the simple task of detonating a bomb to kill people. Of course that would mean 'sniper', which gets into conspiracy theory territory.
Anyway, I really hope her son lives to become the true leader Pakistan is so desperate for.

I've been following the story...such drama! Theories, cover-ups, secret emails and now Scottland Yard. Wow. I guess the road to democracy is never easy, and quite a threatening prospect to some. I, too, will hope that her son leads in her place.
