Oh... I like Reason too. I use the NN-XT quite a bit. And I really dig the combinator feature. You can get some really wicked FX chains happening. It really is fun to work with.

I think the bad thing here is that you can tell this was made in reason. Reason has a very recognizable throaty fake sounding analog and hollow punch.
Other than that I think it's a very creative track. I like the groove and overall funky feel it bounces around.

I have to agree with Subs- Reason is great, but damn it's hard to avoid sounding similar to stuff you've already heard...
It's just such a popular program dammit. Then again, it makes us more determined to use it to its full potential!

I do like the sound of Thor rewired through gritty effects like guitar rig though. You can make some very original noise that doesn't sound like reason at all.
I also still use the NN19 sampler to make abstract loops.
Here's the methods I use:
-Method One-
1. Start a reason rack with just the basics (midi in/audio out, and mixer 14:2) 3. Right click inside reason and load a 'NN19 Digital Sampler' 4. Right click inside reason again and load a 'Matrix Pattern Sequencer' 5. Click the 'Browse Samples' icon at the top/middle of the 'NN19 Digital Sampler' 6. Navigate to and select as many individual samples as you like, then hit ok 7. Right click anywhere on the 'NN19 Digital Sampler' and choose 'Automap Samples' 8. Uncheck 'KBD.TRACK' so all samples play at their actual pitch 9. Raise 'Steps' to 32 on the 'Matrix Pattern Sequencer' 10. Right click on the 'Matrix Pattern Sequencer' then select 'Randomize Pattern' 11. Choose a tempo on the 'Reason Transport' at the bottom of the rack then click play
-Method Two-
1. Open up any waveform in Soundforge 2. Distort the waveform however you like 3. Goto 'Tools/Auto Region' and adjust the settings until it 'auto regions' the waveform into bits, making LOTS of small regions (you'll find that having some bits slightly larger will allow for more nuances in the uniqueness of the glitch) 4. Goto 'Tools/Extract Regions' and extract these regions into a folder
-Now that you have your own personalized set of samples, go back to 'Method One'
