Will there be discussion about these "rules" before or after they are implemented?

the rules will be minimal - i'll post them, and if people want to discuss them and suggest changes, no prob. I'm open to suggestions.

Ugh, see, I know most people on here don't like trance, and yet I still participate. I don't say "F-U guys!" and run away. Danny K's critisizm of one of my older tracks pissed me off, but it made me more motivated to get better. People just can't go through life quitting something everytime they run into a problem. Especially if it's a problem with someone else's opinion.
However, in another sense, I can't completely blame him. When I was younger I had to learn this, I hated the world and still do. It's so isolating. I had issues with my confidence and was defensive and had issues relating to other people. Honestly, i believe the way the world operates today produces this type of behavior in people, and it's not true to who we really are.
I agree we don't have to be so mean to people, but I don't think we should be super nice and bend over backwards to get people to stay when they are bragging about having 10,000 fans and selling mp3s on I-tunes worldwide. However, I see that we also don't want to get an isolationist reputation and should be open (and ARE open) to ALL types of music. So, I guess we're going for a more open minded and accepting mindset from now on, even if it's not what we're all thinking in our head? I wish people didn't get so defensive so we could have some REAL converstations about music.

Personally I'd rather not have an artist around here that feels the need to inject his 'world wide sales' into every comment, like "my dog died today... but it's cool because my music is selling world wide!"
Also, I'm highly skeptical of that point to begin with. Comes across like a weak attempt to generate a buzz.
Does anyone here even like pop music?

Dammit, I was just going to drop in, say "Hi!" and mention that for maybe the thirteenth month in a row, my worldwide sales are still zero!
Through diligence and perseverance, I expect this trend to continue, well into the new year.

i was under the impression that the worst musicians were the best selling.
Because if they were all that intelligent, thought-provoking, or in other words 'different' they couldnt get corporate sponsorship.
What do the numbers mean anyways? Are they selling packages? Not sure that is much of an accomplishment.. except monetarily but even then record labels usually screw you & take 80% of the profit.

Sorry dude!! My intention has never been to intimidate. I do think the greatest disservice you can do to a fellow musician is to sugarcut things that need to be said. The problems come because music is such a subjective thing - trance has never particularly done it for me but I still feel I can pitch in with production/mixing advice.
I have made cash through music before but have just gone through a particularly stressful patch over xmas - through it now however. The truth is 95% of the music industry is in trouble which I feel empowers us types a little more. The comment about sales made me giggle - my itunes sales aren't going to buy castles! lol.
But many people make music for many different reasons. The more lateral reason is that we are just driven too - I try to make money so I can make more music. Having said that I get a lot out of the freelance webdesign I do too - so its all part of life's great tapestry. lol.
Being friendly is a currency that doesn't cost anyone anything - but in this case has dismissed a possible member of the community and a possible paying contributor to the AS. Not that thats my business though.

Despite killing any future revenue stream (sorry Gideon), I firmly believe our newest member to quit before he got started clearly asked for what he got. Or as it's said... "for every action, there is an equal and opposite overreaction." Regardless, I agree with Gideon and all the rest of you that goodwill trumps all (where applicable).

Okay guys you made your point here Sorry if I offended several of you on this site, my orginal intention was to communicate, not brag about a new Trance Track that I am selling to music listeners, not necessarliy to fellow musicians. I really feel like I jumped into a Den of Lions on this site. There are at least two dozen sites that I belong to that I never got this kind of reaction before on after making a simple posting. You guys most be very passionte about your music here.... Let's start over here again if possible, I have uploaded a new track titled 'ALiens in Da' house' on this site, the full track is 5 min. long.. Some of you may Luv it Some of you may hate it That is okay either way for me at this point... I am not some 14 yr. old punk kid here trying cause trouble, I actually own a Record Label and produce music part-time. Who knows, I may find some electronic music artists on this site to sign up on my label in the future... we can learn alot from each other in the future, I have made many good connections with people in the music biz all over the world, not trying to brag here, just stating some facts... So lets try this out one more time...and see how it goes...trying not to have any hard feelings.... ASNAZZY ASNAZZY PRODUCTIONS
